technical specializa�on and “fair-play”. Since 2001, the produc�on facility in

Košice,Slovakia has become an advanced European manufacturer and innovator

whose main goal is world class quality and complete customer sa�sfac�on.

”Auguste Cryogenics Slovakia s.r.o“, a member of the Auguste Cryogenics group with a

manufacturing plant in Slovakia and with a distribu�on center in Germany, is a leader in

the produc�on technology, supply and innova�on of cryogenic storage tanks.

Company history - a look at the past

1728 Founda�on of Union Forge (predecessor of ”Taylor-Wharton“).

1742 First wri� en record of Union Forge.

1811 The company is restructured, the name is changed to ”Taylor and Large“.

1985 Harsco Corpora�on includes Taylor-Wharton into its family of por�olio

companies

2007 Taylor-Wharton Gasserv division separates from Harsco Corpora�on and

creates group ”Taylor-Wharton Interna�onal LLC“.

1912 Merger of The Taylor Iron Works with William Wharton creates the new

company ”Taylor Wharton Iron and Steel Company“.

2001 In Košice, Slovakia, Taylor-Wharton opens its second plant in Europe.

2009 The Centralised Engineering Center for Technical Produc�on and

Engineering of TWI Group is established in Košice.

1859 Founda�on of ”William Wharton, Jr. & Company of Philadelphia“ – at that

�me one of the biggest manufacturers of rails and rail accessories in USA.

1868 Merger of the Taylor and Large with Lahlatang Iron Works resul�ng in

crea�on of a new company named ”The Taylor Iron Works“.

1965 Union Carbide opens ist first European opera�ons in Husum, Germany.

2016 Taylor-Wharton Slovakia s.r.o. Taylor-Wharton Germany GmbHand become

Auguste Cryogenics Slovakia s.r.o. produces an extensive line of high-volume

sta�onary and mobile cryogenic gas tanks and a comprehensive range of high-pressure

vessels. The broad range por�olio includes compressed gas storage, liquid gas storage,

containers for transpor�ng living �ssues and organs, cryogenic chambers for storing

biological samples, high-volume LNG storage and special tanks for the semiconductor

industry.

The gold standard performance of cryogenic tanks produced by Auguste CryogenicsSlovakia s.r.o. are based on the principle of complete thermal insula�on. They consist

of an inner and and outer vessel made from top-quality steel. Both hulls are separated

by an industry-leading stable vacuum which prevents the penetra�on of heat from the

ambient environment towards the innner vessel. Addi�onal insula�on levels by

extruded perlite and mul�ple layers of aluminum foil provide super insula�on that

protects the tank itself from the warming effects of infrared radia�on.
