Please provide a short summary of your project. Please recall that this section (or part of it) may beused by the European Commission, Executive Agency or National Agencies in their publications. Itwill also feed the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.

Be concise and clear and mention at least the following elements: context/background of project;objectives of your project; number and profile of participants; description of activities; methodology tobe used in carrying out the project; a short description of the results and impact envisaged and finallythe potential longer term benefits. The summary will be publicly available in case your project isawarded.

In view of further publication on the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform, please also be aware that acomprehensive public summary of project results will be requested at report stage(s). Final paymentprovisions in the contract will be linked to the availability of such summary.

We want to encourage students to learn to listen to the other, to understand the other’s point of view,to feel strong to dedicate themselves to their community and to be able to help social minorities intheir surroundings. Developing these competences at school, we expect our students becomeresponsible citizens committed to their closest social setting as well as to the European society, having as their own the values of respect to diversity, understanding, cooperation, equality andsolidarity, and considering dialogue as an essential part of coexistence.

With this project, we want to exchange good practices with the aim to strengthen our activecitizenship education. Here, we define active citizenship as: 1) to engage and participate in socialsissues in society and 2) to engage in political issues in society and in democracy as a concept thatguarantees individual choices of its citizens despite opposite interests.First, we want to find methods to develop the social and civic (= democratic) skills of our pupils.Second, we want to find expertise to create a learning environment in which ‘active citizenshipeducation’ flourishes at school and outside the school, targeting different target groups (disabledpersons, refugees, etc.) , using different concepts/methods (social internship, etc.), and with differentintensity (1 day-activity, long-term engagements, etc.). And to find ways to evaluate and recognisethe learning results of ‘active citizenship’-activities.

The students of 17-18 years old are involved in the project. About 100 of them (20 per school) will bedirectly implied participating in mobilities, while the rest of them will be involved too, as they willparticipate in other activities and/or will be affected by results of the project. About 50 teachers (10per school) will be involved in mobilities.

We will develop activities addressed to increase the knowledge of the students about citizenship andto increase the motivation of the students to be socially committed. For the teachers we prepareactivities with the aim to exchange strategies and methods to give more knowledge to teachers aboutorganizing citizenship projects and how to evaluate those kind of projects. We make also sure thatthe teacher widen their horizon and get to extensive their network of schools and organizations. Thiswe do with the goal to broaden our knowledge and visions so we can improve the quality of educationabout citizenship, coaching and motivation of students .

The results we expect are that our students feel social and civic values as their own, and feel as anessential part of their community itself. We also aim for resilient young people who will seize theopportunities to take an active part in life as citizens, caring for themselves but also others. This willbe reflected in our schools, in our student’s after-school lives and in our society. The most importantoutcome of the project is an increase of knowledge, awareness and engagement about and forcitizenship initiatives to help each other and especially social minorities.

Atheneum GO! for Business is the only Dutch-speaking school from the GO! network education ofthe Flemish Community in Molenbeek. Our school regroups different options: general education(ASO), technical education (TSO) and vocational education (BSO). Each option has a link witheconomics. We have currently 360 pupils and 74 staff members. Our collective goal as a school is tofocus on entrepreneurship and well-being in order to increase the chances of success of youngpeople in a quantitative and qualitative manner. For the educational project of the GO! (PPGO!) isthe central focus of education learning and living together. In order to fulfill this task we focus onindependence, talent development and inclusion of active citizenship. The fact that we are inBrussels, the capital of Europe, makes it very interesting for other schools to come here. Brussels, acosmopolitan city, have the European Parliament and Commission. 180 different nationalities mingle. Our school is specifically located in the municipality of Molenbeek. It is one of the 19 municipalities ofBrussels Capital region. There is a lack of diversity in the foreign population and the fact they are allclustered in the same area is a problem. Nearly 40% of people in Molenbeek are unemployed. Thereis one main minority group in Molenbeek and therefore in our school. Having a population from a lowsocial and economic background and all from immigration brings a lot of challenges like languagedeficiency. This is one of the reasons why we are a ‘GOK’-school (GOK = equal educationalopportunities). On the basis of the number of pupils who meet socio-economic indicators, our schoolreceives extra support and resources. To achieve our goal we organise a lot of activities like: -“Brutus” learning from students from universities to improve their skills. -Social internship : improvingtolerance and solidarity by helping others in different situations. -Voedselbankactie: promoting to buyfood for people in poverty. As a part of the Unesco ASP network (Unesco Associated SchoolsProject network), we organise every year different activities and specifically a social internship ondifferent locations. Being a Unesco school means to be a representative of the values of Unesco. These activities focus on strengthen tolerance and solidarity. International cooperation is also part ofthose values and we have worked in the past with other schools. Unfortunately is this the last decadenot anymore an option for our pupils due to their financial situation. With this project we hope tocontinue to improve their tolerance and solidarity at an European level. Therefore can their Europeanidentity grow. The key persons of this project are: -Headmaster, experience with KA1-projects -Quality coordinator, follow up KA2 -Teacher, follow up of the social internship -Internationalizationcoordinator of Scholengroep Brussel Our main expertise is organising the social internship in a socialenvironment.

Falkonergaarden is an upper secondary public school, with 1030 young students, age 15-20 yearsold. The staff consists of 90-100 teachers, all with an academic background teaching 1 or 2 subjectseach. Students tend to focus only at their school results and getting high grades. Their three years inhigh school (upper secondary school) is a period where they are very focused on preparingthemselves for their future career. They meet other students who come from the same kind of socialand economic background and therefore they see the world in the same way and are only acquaintedwith young people like themselves. It gives them a very narrow perspective (or no perspective) ofother people, less resourceful than themselves. We - Falkonergaarden - would like to open their eyesto the world outside the school and give them a sense of the responsibility they have to contribute tothe society – not only as a duty, but also because it will make them “grow” as human beings. Theywill get wiser, they will find out how many resources they possess (physically, mentally, material etc.)when they help other people. The key persons in the project are: Tom Søgaard-Jensen, pedagogicalleader Marianne Munch Svendsen, Headmaster Maren Pilgaard, teacher in our social science classValdemar Birk Lykke, English teacher We organize the volunteer work in three arenas: 1) THECLASS participating in the Erasmus+ will work theoretically about the project in a number of differentsubjects such as English, Social science, Danish, History, Mathematics, etc. They will be given timeand support to come up with volunteer projects of their own. These projects will play a big part in themobility to Copenhagen. The aim will be to make these projects in a way that allows the otherparticipants to be able to easily copy these projects in their own neighborhood. 2) We have a group ofstudents called FALKOSKABET . They organize social and democratic activities at the school duringthe year. All students can participate and help organizing these project. Some will participate -helping with 1-2 specific types of arrangements and others will participate as organizers/“managers”.The school will provide these managing students with skills that enable them to organize theseprojects. Students from all our classes can participate in this students program. Falkoskabet arecollaborating with different NGOs. 3) ALL STUDENTS. All students at Falkonergaarden should beoffered the possibility to participate in different volunteer projects. We won´t get everyone involved, but we want to make volunteer work more visible and more present in their minds. So we havealready some projects that involve all students (“Operation Dagsværk - work for a day and donateyour salary” and participating in Copenhagen Pride) and we have contacted a number of NGOs whowill come and pitch their projects to all students and ask for volunteers.

Vittorino da Feltre is a public high school in Taranto, Puglia with 941 students, 134 teachers, 22administrative staff. Our school provides 2 learning paths: 1)Human Science: with subjects likePsychology, Philosophy, History, Geography, literature, Maths, Science, Physics, Art, Law, English.2) Social-Economical studies: with Economics and 2 foreign languages, EN and FR or SP. Ourschool aims to make students aware of their cultural, geographical background, widen theirintellectual, cultural horizon, motivate them to take responsibility of their education and thus becomeresponsible adults through values like respect, compassion, honesty, cooperation. In our schooldisabled students are integrated in normal classes so the presence of a friend with problems helpsothers to become more responsible, self-aware. We would like to enter in a European dimension, develop EU citizenship skills, exchange teaching materials, methods and experiences and providestudents with a strong base for internationalisation and to prepare them to study, work and live in amulticultural environment. A group of 10 teachers is be in charge of the project, led by a projectmanager Prof. Annamaria Tarsia Incuria and the headmaster. The team has experience in ICT (ourclasses are provided with Interactive Whiteboards, PCs), use innovative teaching methods (Flippedclassroom, Webquest, Action-Research, Problem solving, Learning by doing, Roleplay, PeerEducation). We are strongly aware of our culture, traditions, customs that characterize our territorywith an old history, in the past the capital of Magna Grecia. Our school offers a range of projects toopen the students’ mind and connect with local institutions. We started to develop our EU dimensionby taking part in an e-Twinning project “A Film-Made World”; since last year we implement work-based learning with a Russian school. As dual training, we collaborate with local institutions: NavyLeague, Harbour Master, Mariscuola (Naval Petty Officers’ School). We run projects in cooperationwith the Archeological Museum, University, Police Headquarters, local Jail, local Libraries and LaRinghiera.net an on-line local newspaper. We cooperate with an Association hosting immigrants, teaching them Italian, helping them to find a job and we work with a retirement center to develop andimprove old people’s integration with socio-cultural activities. Our school implemented projects inactive citizenship, environmental education, green economy, gender violence. Thanks to the abovementioned activities, our Erasmus working group can contribute to this project with competences inproject management, involve the school community in an internationalization process, support theteacher’s work related to project implementation and reporting. Our team has technicians for on-lineresources, to support us in the use of technology, web expert school’s website), social mediaexpertise to be triggered for dissemination among students.

Os Gymnas is situated in the municipality Os about 30 km south of Norway’s second biggest townBergen. There are about 20,000 inhabitants in the municipality of which most live directly in thelargest village Os. Os Gymnas is one of the three secondary schools in the area, specialising ingiving pupils the basis they need for further studies. There are about 235 pupils in eight classes.Besides subjects within the branches of science, languages and economy, we also offer sportsclasses that are quite popular. Alongside the focus on the different subjects, we work for a goodlearning environment. Different activities to ensure a good social climate are also important and weare happy that different enquiries give us a very good ranking in Norway – in a positive sense –considering aspects like mobbing. Having a medium-sized school makes it easier to see if pupilsneed help or are alone. As a help here we also have a school nurse with an open office one day aweek. The school also acts as a teacher training school in cooperation with the university in Bergen. The digital e-learning platform “Its learning“ is used in all subjects and classes at Os Gymnas. Itfunctions as an information system, and a platform for pedagogical activities. All students insecondary school in Norway are equipped with a PC which is used actively as a teaching andlearning tool in all subjects. This also enables the students to easily participating in internationalprojects. As an important basis for employment in the professional world as well as for being anactive European citizen we offer different English, German, Spanish and French. Several of thesubjects taught here are of interest in a project concerning citizenship, especially social studies, sociology, international English and politics and human rights. Every 2 years the school takes part inthe student election. This election gives the students the opportunity to gain experience with voting, and is considered one of the first and most important arenas for learning about democratic processesin adult life. We are partner of a programme called MOT- which is an organization aiming atstrengthening young people to take good choices for themselves and others, to be good citizens, thathelp forming good environments in and outside school. Our school has a lot of experience in studentexchanges and international cooperations with school partners in the programmes Comenius andErasmus.Os gymnas has experience with eTwinning from these earlier international projects. Theproject will be led by a coordinator from the administrative staff and the headmaster of the school. Both have considerable experience with international projects. Our main motivation for participatingis to develop new ways of motivating students in taking a more active part in democratic processesand using the possibilities they have to be more active citizens, and to learn through the cooperationwith the other schools.

Institut El Calamot is a Public Secondary School in Gavà -Barcelona- that provides compulsorySecondary Education, Pre-University Education, VET and HE. It was created in 1986 and currentlyhas over 1000 students (mainly working-class family students and students of an immigrantbackground) and about 100 teachers. Our school seeks guaranteeing self and collective well-being.We are motivated to join this project because it is in line with our vision of education. Society ischanging really fast, new technologies are gaining lots of importance and our students are mainlyfocusing on superficial matters such as social networks. There is an increasing tendency to forgetabout major social issues. As teachers, we must revert this tendency and provide our students withthe tools to grow as responsible citizens who don’t do things just for themselves but for the generalgood. This is a huge opportunity for us to get things done and reach people at an international level. We have a broad trajectory regarding projects and cooperation linked to citizenship; however, weunderstand it is absolutely necessary not just to maintain this path but to broaden it. We offersubjects such as “Culture and Values”, “Interculturalism and civic responsibility” and “Philosophy”.Our school annually participates in a hearing called “Educational Audience”, where students canvolunteer to participate. Our town has a place called “The Big House” where citizens get together toorganize activities and create projects for the community. They promote the participation ofyoungsters and allow them to actively make decisions. We have a tight relation with “The Big House”.We have a “School Council” with elected representatives -teachers, parents and students- who gettogether to improve our system. Every class democratically choose their representatives too. Once aweek, all of them have a workshop. Other resources our school has are: food collection for people inneed, mediation, coordination with neighboring entities, “welcome room” for newcomers, coordination with Red Cross -food allowances-, assisted study free of charge for students in need, management of scholarships and counseling, Intensive Support for Inclusive Education, service ofex-students who help current students at improving their skills, volunteer service of students aged16-17 who go to primary schools to help students improve their English skills in after-school hours–“Sharing To Learn”-... The key people are: Marco Berenguer: headteacher Jorge Lorenzo: head ofstudies Lorena Diez: former head of studies & coordinator Eva Martí: mobility & Erasmus+coordinator If a member leaves, any of the mentioned above will take their responsibility. Othermembers of the staff will be involved in the project too. ETwinning experience: participation in theproject “Mi ciudad eco-responsable” (“My eco-responsible city”). Our partner was the school LPOClaude Nougaro (Caussade-Monteils, France).

Please describe the motivation for your project and explain why it should be funded.

The reason we wrote this project is that the schools feel the necessity and the responsibility toeducate our students to be European citizens and to respect minorities and to be aware of theimportance of integration, social work and hospitality. We are strongly convinced that this isfundamental to shape our students’ future European identity. Socially positive attitude is a good andvaluable thing in itself, which can make our students capable of taking an active role and which issimultaneously beneficial to those receiving support and to the students themselves who are doingthe social work. Helping and encouraging young people to create a positive attitude and contribute tochange their behaviour towards minorities is an important challenge.

We choose to work on the full development of the students: not only prepare them for a job but also insociety. We believe that schools have a great potential for fostering the development of social, civicand intercultural responsibility because schools provide opportunities for students to engage directlyin their communities and meet community needs while enhancing their studies and competencydevelopment. The transformation of young people into full citizens is one of the core tasks ofeducation. It is important that, at the same time, pupils have the opportunity to purposefully explorewhat these responsibilities means and the importance of both understanding and embracing thisconcept. The ability to understand one another across and beyond all types of cultural barriers is afundamental prerequisite in modern schools. It is extremely important to develop the necessaryattitudes, skills and knowledge that contribute to intercultural competence in the everyday practice ofteaching and learning, so that our pupils are able to live an increasingly global and complexenvironment.

We want to exchange good practices with the aim to strengthen active citizenship. We define activecitizenship as: 1) to engage and participate in socials issues in society and 2) to engage in politicalissues in society and in democracy as a concept that guarantees individual choices of its citizensdespite opposite interests. The general framework of the project is to promote, strengthen and facilitate connections betweenstudents and volunteer groups and NGOs doing local work of improving life for social minorities. Inthis way we aim at helping the students combine studies with a social awareness and sense of socialresponsibility and citizenship.

The mobilities will aim at creating results on two linked, but different levels. For the participating staffthe aim is to create, discuss and implement ideas on how to build up capacity on a school level inorder to transform the way the school works with social consciousness and volunteer work. For thestudents the aim is to come up with and set into action concrete projects in their local community andthen presenting these projects to the visiting students.

What are the objectives you would like to achieve and concrete results you would like to produce? How are these objectives linked to the priorities you have selected?

This project aims to exchange good practices with the aim to strengthen our active citizenshipeducation. We want to find methods to develop the social and civic skills of our pupils. We want to find expertise to create a learning environment in which ‘active citizenship education’flourishes in and outside the school, targeting different target groups, using differentconcepts/methods and with different intensity. And to find ways to evaluate and recognise thelearning results of citizenship activities.

STUDENT LEVEL:Increasing the knowledge of students of projects on citizenship at national and international level.Increasing the involvement of students in citizenship initiatives and propagating them inside andoutside the school.Increasing the communication skills of the students in English.Increasing the social and civic skills of the students.

TEACHER LEVEL:Increasing knowledge of teachers about projects relating to citizenship; share experiences and learnmethods to evaluate these projects.Motivating students who are not directly involved with projects that involve citizenship.Disseminating the results to the partners' local and national communities and to the Erasmus +community.Increasing teachers' motivation to try new pedagogical methods and tools and familiarize themselveswith teaching approaches used in other parts of Europe.

SCHOOL LEVEL:Expanding a European network of the school with good practice examples about citizenship.Introduction to new school cultures / broadening knowledge and visions.Increasing students' motivation to participate in exchange programmes.Increasing collaboration between partner schools and other institutions.

RESULTS:The project will have different results:1/ an manual/toolbox with good practices on*How to develop the social and civic skills of the pupils and integrate it into the curriculum*Facilitating active citizenship at school*Facilitating active citizenship outside the school*How to evaluate and recognise the learning results of the pupils of ‘active citizenship’-activities.2/ a schoolvision on active citizenship3/ a Twinspace with reports, photos, videos, presentations

LINK TO PRIORITIES:The project aims to strenghten the social and civic competences of our students and the knowledgeand skills to organize and evaluate citizenship projects of our staff members. The proposed goals, activities and results emphasize the promotion of these competences. We use the definition of the EUabout social and civic competentes: "These include personal, interpersonal and interculturalcompetence and cover all forms of behaviour that equip individuals to participate in an effective andconstructive way in social and working life, and particularly in increasingly diverse societies, and toresolve conflict where necessary."

How are the planned activities going to lead to achievement of the project's objectives?

With this project, the schools want to strenghten our active citizenship education. To realise thisresult, the teachers will exchange good practices during the joint staff training events and implementand test usefull ideas afterwards at school. The following methodology is applied:- List of good practices per school- Mutual exchange of good practices- Implementing useful good practices and testing of these good practices- Evaluation of good practices by teachers and students- Choosing which goodpractices are integrated sustainably into school systemThe students will develop social and civic skills through the virtual and physical exchanges. They willexperience citizenship projects. Hereby their knowledge about citizenship and the possibleassociated projects will enhance.

The activities are set up in such a way that they are in function of the needs and goals. At the verybeginning of the project idea, the needs of the different schools were identified. Based on this needsanalysis, we set goals and linked expected effects to them. The activities that have been drawn upare designed in such a way that the goals are achieved / pursued and thereby contribute to theeffects. The activities are described in the LTTs and the timetable.

By always making the link between the needs, goals and desired effects, we develop appropriateactivities. The effects are mapped after each mobility. This is communicated to all partner schoolswhich can be taken into account in the programs of the future mobilities.

eTwinning and Erasmus+ platformsHave you used or do you plan to use eTwinning, School Education Gateway or the Erasmus+ ProjectResults Platform for preparation, implementation or follow-up of your project? If yes, please describehow.

We use Erasmus+ online platforms during the project:-Erasmus+ Project Results Platform: We used this Platform to prepare the application. It gave usinspiration about priorities, methodology, results and impact.-eTwinning: During the mobilities the students keep a journal/diary/blog on the eTwinning platform. Inthat way the students who stay home can follow their experiences. The students who are taking partof the mobility learn to work together and increase their communication skills in English. After each mobility the produced reports, description of the activities, photos are posted on theeTwinning platform by the staff members and the students and are free accessible for other schoolsor interested ones.El Calamot in Spain and Os Gymnas in Norway are our experts about eTwinning. They are alreadyeTwinning schools and and they therefore have experience with it. Their role is to support otherschools from past experience.-School Education gateway: We will offer the project results to the School Education gateway, making them available for institutions, organizations, and enterprises, interested in citizenshipinitiatives.

The students get because of the support of the Eramus+ grant the opportunity to widen their horizonby visiting another country or to get visitors of another country. Thanks to this support, they gainexperiences that would otherwise be unfeasible for them and their families due to financial reasons. All costs for the students concerning taking part in the project are covered. This will enable allstudents to be able to participate, no matter what socioeconomic background. Through this, theproject will support equal opportunities for all students. The host families get a certain amount of money so they feel supported and can offer a decent stayfor the guest students.

Does your project involve schools that have neverparticipated in a Strategic Partnership? If yes, please explain how more experienced schools cansupport less experienced partners during the project.

Atheneum GO! for Business wrote a pitch about their projectidea. This pitch was send to severalcontactpersons in Europe. The projectpartners are found via the network of the atheneum GO! forBusiness and other schools and via training courses. As coordinator, the Belgian school selected theproject partners based on an partner form they filled out. In that form each potential partner gave theirmotivation, information about their school and their experience. To the school in Denmark and theschool in Norway the Belgian school made a preparatory visit to align the outlines of the project.

The chosen partners are diverse (nordic and southern countries) so that every participant can benefitfrom different experiences, get to know various cultures, produce relevant project results and createa valuable network. The Spanish school has been in touch with Atheneum GO! for Business for over3 years now and also has an exchange program with the Danish school. The existing solid bond andthe previous experience in teamwork will be of great use to support the other partners.

There are partners involved that have never previously been involved in an strategic partnership. They can count on the help of the more experienced partners, of organizations like Ryckevelde andEuphoria with which the school collaborate on stable basis in order to follow internationalizationprocesses and teachers training. The Belgian school receives support from the internationalizationcoordinator of their school group (Ellen Pauwels).

Please describe the practical arrangements for the planned Learning, Teaching and Training activities. How will you select, prepare and support theparticipants, and ensure their safety?

A considerable amount of work had already been undertaken by the partners during the planning phase (choice of project managers, setting upcommunication, ...).

GENERAL:Each school has their focus during the activities:- Norway: student council and MOT- Belgium: helping young adults of the social minority and helping people of the social minority in their own neighborhood- Italy: immigrants and social minority groups- Denmark: How do we create time in our system to be involved in civic activities? How do we get more people to interact with the society?- Spain: voluntary work to support social minorities

We plan a mobility to each school. All the participating schools will meet during each mobility. The teachers have 2 roles: companion of the studentsand follower of a training. Each mobility will last 5 days (2 travel days included). The students will stay in a host family and are combined with a hoststudent depending on their interests, language, … The hostschool will help the travelling schools to find an appropriate residence. The staff stays in ahotel, an airbnb or a hostel. We plan in spring 2019 to inform the parents about the project and ask them to be a host family.

SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS:We aim at involving as many participants throughout the school as possible by integrating some of the project activities into the school curricula andorganising whole-school events. However, the project group will be selected during a selection process based on the rules of procedure document. We prefer that the participants rotate to promote more participation within each institution.

STUDENTS:First, the students will receive the information about the project and the details about the learning activities within the project’s mobility activities. Theinterested students will be asked to submit a motivation letter and do an interview. The participating students will be selected by their own schoolstaff. The selection criteria for the selection of the students will be:- about 17-18 years old- motivation- contribution to the project- motivation and adaptableness

It is also an exercise to communicate in Englishand to make an exercise together with their host students .

How is participation in this activity going to benefit the involved participants?

Students will benefit from not only seeing how other people, in other countries, deal with social issues and citizenship but also being an active part ofit. Students will gain consciousness through the exposure to real situations. They will improve their oral skills in English and learn new specificvocabulary too.

LINK with the normal activities of the involved schools:All the stuff members will be involved, informed and updated on the progress of the project. During those days, we will have a transversal project oncitizenship, so both teachers and students will be participating on this issue.

Does this activity combine physical mobility with virtual exchanges through eTwinning?

Yes

Please explain how this will be achieved and what the expected benefits are.

All the participants will have an account on eTwinning and will be in charge of contributing and updating the information as the project progresses. Itis not just about living the experience, but also sharing it. We expect all the participants to benefit from this fact, as there will be a different group ofpeople in each trip and the use of eTwinning will allow us to be informed at all times, exchange ideas and even arrange video conferences so thatother participants can interact in the distance and have a say at the very same moment we are dealing with a certain issue.

How is participation in this activity going to benefit the involved participants?

As teachers, we want our students to become enlightened citizens who are clear-thinking and decision makers. It is our responsibility to set the basisfor them to succeed in doing so. Participating in this activity will make us see a broader picture. This experience will give us more tools and will makeus more capable of engaging our students in social issues. It will also give us ideas to create new projects for the general good.

Through interaction with the other students the focus will be on similarities, too, and how to find a common ground for working for a good socialenvironment. How to develop good social skills can be organized in different ways, and in Norway there is no common teaching plan that tells theschool how to work with this. Nevertheless, most schools work continuously on the subject, many taking part in different programs. The participantswill learn how they can organize a structured focus on this topic, ensuring a positive development and giving the pupils social skills that make iteasier for them to be positive citizens in a changing world.

The visit will also be very beneficial to the Norwegian students; through the exchange and the common work they will learn a lot about these aspectsin other schools and countries, thus giving them mind-openers and broader perspective on life. They will also be inspired to engage themselves morein society. Through cooperative work in groups, the students will all improve their social and language skills. The students will improve their Englishskills, but also strengthen their knowledge in the use of digital media through writing reports that include diary/blogs/pictures/videos.

The visiting staff will learn about organizing activities for improving the social environment at school (MOT-program and other other activities). Theywill also get an expert lecture about democracy in school systems, and how democratic values and learning how to be an active citizen can beencouraged at a school level, too. They will get inside knowledge into the students council work, and how to encourage democratic values at school. The main aim will be to create, discuss and implement ideas on how to build up capacity on a school level in order to transform the way the schoolworks with the social environment, social consciousness and volunteer work. Description of the activity:● Describe the content, methodology and expected results of the activity.● How is it going to be related to or integrated with the normal activities of the involved schools?

CONTENTThe visit is the last mobility, so the central aim is to make a closing seminar, where students and staff will exchange all relevant insights and discussthe most efficient way of making lasting, positive changes for the students, schools and surrounding community.

METHODOLOGYThe danish class of 28 students will be the hosts of the visit. They will have worked in smaller groups with their specific projects for the last two yearsand will present these projects in a way that allows the visiting students to replicate these projects in their own countries.

DAY 1 (travelday): welcome moment at school and in the host family

DAY 2:-Different kind of “ice-breakers” in order to give the participants knowledge of each other.-The guest students and students visit English, Social studies and Psychology classes in order to learn more about their volunteer projects.-In the afternoon a trip to Copenhagen city centre with a special focus on visiting different inspiring projects, such as GAME (street basket in lessaffluent areas of CPH)

DAY 3:-All the participants will be put together in Matrix-groups (participants from every school in every group - students, teachers and leaders will beseperated because we would like an evaluation and catalogue with ideas from different perspectives). the group with teachers, the group withleaders and the student matrix groups should gather the experiences from all the different school projects and evaluate these (which projects/ideascan be used by other schools, what kind of adjustments should be made, have we found methods that activate and involve more students - whichmethods are working in order to make sure the projects continue and have a long lifespan.-During the afternoon, they shall produce a presentation of the entire project (including pictures, text, results and ideas that could be shared withother other schools). The ideas will be tested on a panel of 2-3 other schools from Copenhagen on day 4, in order to learn what they think could beimplemented at their school. This will improve the the catalogue of ideas, that should be the outcome of this Erasmus Project.

DAY 4:The last day will be a closing conference with all the visitors, relevant staff, Danish Erasmus students, other local high schools (students, teachers,

management), the mayor of Frederiksberg and CEOs of NGO-organisations. The Matrix groups should present their results in front of this group ofexternal guest that havent been involved. They should ask critical questions and consider whether these ideas would work at their schools. We willlearn from the reaction and feedback, and on behalf of these, we should improve the content of our catalogue.

DAY 5 (travelday)

They will also be able to join language classes as part of our normal subject schedule.

Does this activity combine physical mobility with virtual exchanges through eTwinning?

Yes

Please explain how this will be achieved and what the expected benefits are.

The students who are participating in the mobility, keep a diary/blog on the eTwinning-platform. Each day they post new information (report, photos, videos). This way they keep their fellow students at home up to date and involved in the project. It is also an exercise to communicate in English andto make an exercise together with their host students .

How is participation in this activity going to benefit the involved participants?

They will learn about danish school culture and school system. They will learn how to make a presentation and take part in a debate with external participants - they should argue for the ideas, that have come upduring the project. They should create a catalogue with ideas/best practice for schools, for teachers, for students. The Danish students will present the volunteer projects they have been working on for the last two years. They will present these projects in a waythat allow the visiting students to transplant these to their own countries.

Description of the activity:● Describe the content, methodology and expected results of the activity.● How is it going to be related to or integrated with the normal activities of the involved schools?

CONTENTThe aim of the conference is to gather all findings, experiences and results of the collaboration and discuss the best way of disseminating bestpractice, ie how to assure a lasting effect of the project.

METHODOLOGYObjectives of the activities organized by the Danish school will be to enable the visiting staff members to initiate enduring cultural changes to theirorganizations in order to raise awareness of of the societal importance of civic volunteer work.

The approximate program will be:DAY 1 (travelday): welcome moment at school and in the host familyDAY 2:-Meeting about the possibilities of a future cooperation between the schools when the Erasmus project has ended.-Visit of the English, Social studies and Psychology classes in order to learn more about the project with helping refugee children with theirhomework, and participation in “ungdommens folkemøde (the youth-democratic day held every year in september for all young people).-Visiting projects in Copenhagen city centre, such as GAME (street basket in less affluent areas) and KU.BE (an open-for-all citizens culture house)DAY 3:-All the students will be put together in Matrix-groups (Participants from every school in every group. Students, teachers and leaders will beseperated because we would like an evaluation and catalogue with ideas from different perspectives). The group teachers, the group leaders and thestudent matrix groups should gather the experiences from all the different school projects and evaluate these.-During the afternoon all the groups shall produce a presentation of the entire project (including pictures, text, results and ideas that could be sharedwith other other schools.). The ideas will be tested on a panel of 2-3 other schools from Copenhagen on day 4, in order to learn what they think couldbe implemented at their school. The teachers and leaders should make a presentation of things that have been a challenge from their perspectiveand solutions to these. This will improve the catalogue of ideas, that should be the outcome of this Erasmus Project.DAY 4:-A closing conference with all the visitors, relevant staff, Danish Erasmus students, other local high schools (students, teachers, management), themayor of Frederiksberg and CEOs of NGO-organisations. The aim of the conference is to gather all findings, experiences and results of thecollaboration and discuss the best way of disseminating best practice, ie how to assure a lasting effect of the project. The Matrix groups shouldpresent their results in front of this group of external guest that haven't been involved. They should ask critical questions and consider whether these

ideas would work at their schools.-In the afternoon we will learn from the reaction and feedback, and on behalf of these, we should improve the content of our catalogue.DAY 5 (travelday)

Does this activity combine physical mobility with virtual exchanges through eTwinning?

Yes

Please explain how this will be achieved and what the expected benefits are.

All participating staff will communicate on two platforms: etwinning and the shared Facebook group.

How is participation in this activity going to benefit the involved participants?

The main aim of the mobility to Copenhagen is to discuss and establish how to make it possible to transform the school towards a change in culturethat has volunteer work as a core value and subsequently how best to organize the contact between students, staff and NGOs. The transformationwill take into account the following problems: The students are mainly focused on their grades and personal lifes, the teachers are already pressed tothe limit with a heavy workload, schools are under a lot of pressure from surrounding society, the educational Ministry, parents in a number of waysand there are practical issues around establishing lasting contacts with the NGOs. So the main question of the mobility is: How do we make volunteerwork a priority, when all this other demands have to be met?

With the Erasmus project, we try to explore models that will solve the challenges mentioned. We establish and educate a group of students (project-leader education), that will help the students and the school to arrange activities at the schooland in the neighborhood, that promote volunteer work.We will work with models of volunteer work, that can be combined/be part of the daily lessons/teaching, so it is integrated in the students andteachers normal activity. We will develop different types of volunteer arrangements hold at Falkonergården for the benefit of a specific group (ie. a sportcamp for handicappedchildren). What type of arrangements can we arrange that are held during one day, and that can involve our students (this requires a collaborationwith the local organisations). The main aim of the mobility is to discuss the experience of the participating staff with these issues and together construct a school model forvolunteer work that is feasible, robust and transferable.

Follow UpHow are you going to assess if the project's objectives have been met?

The project will have different results:-increased knowledge about citizenship initiatives (students & staff)-more students show engagement to social commitment (students)-increased functional linguistic knowledge of English and communication skills (students)-increased social and civic skills (students & staff)-more insight into the organization and evaluation of citizenship projects (staff)-seeing new possibilities and feeling stronger in motivating students (staff)-enriched teaching practice and school policy to create a strong learning environment (staff)-a more extensive network and base for collaborations (staff)-a Twinspace with reports, photos, videos, presentations (students & staff)-guidelines for developing and organising activities for different citizenship projects (students & staff)-a catalogue/toolbox with ideas for future citizenship projects (students & staff)

The most important outcome of the project is an increase of knowledge, awareness and engagementabout and for citizenship initiatives to help each other and especially social minorities by studentsand staff members.

To measure and assess the results of the project we will use some indicators.-knowledge about citizenship initiatives (students & staff)-willingness to cooperate with citizenship projects (students)-level of communication skills in English (students)-dare to speak English (students)-willingness to speak English (students)-insight into the organization and evaluation of citizenship projects (staff)-network of schools, organizations, … (staff)-seeing possibilities in motivating students (staff)-enriched teaching practice and school policy (staff)

We aim for a higher level of knowledge, skills and competence for each of the listed criteria.

We will use several tools to measure the effects:- conduct surveys among students and teachers- chart the evolution of the results of English of the students- make an inventory of the acquired network during mobilitiesIn order to gain insight into the evolution, a measurement is made before the mobilities and after themobilities. The Italian school has taken the responsibility to develop a template survey to evaluate LTT’s andcreate a document with the results of the evaluation of the mobilities.

Each school is responsible for a baseline measurement for the mobilities and measurements after themobilities with its own students and staff. The project coordinator is the final responsible for bringingall measurements together and maintaining an overview of the effects of the project. If necessary, adjustments can be made to upcoming mobilities (for example support for students before or duringmobility) based on the measurements already performed.

How will the participation in this project contribute to the development of the involved schools in thelong-term? Do you have plans to continue using the results of the project or continue to implementsome of the activities after the project's end?

The participation to this project has several long-term effects for the involved schools and theirschoolteam (students & staff):- The schools have effective methods to strengthen the social and civic skills of the students.- The schools have user-friendly and efficient tools to evaluate and acknowledge the learningoutcomes resulting from citizenship activities. These tools are collected and described in a toolbox. This is one of the tangible results of the project.- The school contributes to strengthening social inclusion.- The teachers have the competences to organise citizenship activities.- More students show engagement to social commitment.- Working in projects with students is more and more encouraged and requested from the schoolcurriculum in many countries. The organized activities for the teachers contribute to the support andthe acquisition of the necessary competences to make this happen.- The schools have a schoolvision on active citizenship.

All experiences, acquired skills and developed materials such as the toolbox ensure that the KA229project continues to live at school. The good practices of other schools are viewed, evaluated, selected by taking into account the school context of each school. Depending on the needs andpossibilities (in the school and in the environment of the school) of the individual schools, more orfewer good practices are implemented in the long term. It is anyway intended to further integratecitizenship within the school culture and this includes the related projects and initiatives.

Please describe your plans for dissemination and use of project results.

● How will you make the results of your project known within your partnership, in your localcommunities and in the wider public? Who are the main target groups you would like to shareyour results with?

● Are there other groups or organisations that will benefit from your project? Please explain how.

We work out a consistent look and feel and apply them systematically so that they becomerecognizable. To realize this, the project has a meaningful and inspiring title and the students developa suitable logo. The students will be in charge of presenting proposals and choosing the winners. These contests are a very good way to disseminate among students. When we make them anessential part of a project, they feel motivated; hence learning occurs and consciousness arises.

The purpose of the dissemination is that our region is aware of the European exchange and theexchange of good practices that we set up. We also want to share the inspiration, ideas and goodpractices with them to encourage them to participate in citizenship projects. We disseminate toparents, pupils, organizations, schools. Depending on the target group we disseminate reports ofactivities, photos, projectresults, developed materials, new visions on education, ...

Each schools uses a variety of tools to disseminate. A number of tools are the same for all schools:Twinspace, school Education gateway (At the end of the project will offer them the project results.),Learning platforms of the schools, parent evening, Facebook/Twitter/Instagrampage of the schools, website of the schools, local press. After each international meeting, we will create a “Newsletter” containing the main information andthe updates. We will write a reminder -brief piece of news- in the social networks and web page everytime a “Newsletter” comes out. The “Newsletters” will be sent via e-mail to all the staff at school, published in the “Erasmus+ Corner” and uploaded to the webpage of each school.

Per school there are some specific partners to disseminate projectresults with:-Belgium: Onderwijscentrum Brussel, UNESCO ASPnetwork, schoolgroup (17 schools of secondarylevel), network internationalization and network citizenship of GO! (GO! attaches great importance tocitizenship.), local press like Bruzz, organisations of internships, Brede School.-Norway: local press like Midtsiden and Os og Fusaposten (20 000 inhabitants)-Italy: a local promotion meeting of the project, project website linked to the school homepage, meetings in other educational institutions, local press, TV and radio-Spain: local magazines “El Bruguers” and “L’Eramprunyà”, organizations like“The Big House” andthe town council-Denmark: start a class every year after finishing the Erasmus Project with a specific focus oncitizenship, an article in the monthly teachers magazine and giving lectures at conferences hold bythe ministry of education/Erasmus

Our ambition is to use the projectresults in the participating schools and in their area of influence.Hopefully it will also be possible to cooperate with teachers/students from the other participatingschools - either virtually or through school visits - in the years after the project.
