Product description

Rebar splicing couplers can simplify the

design and construction of reinforced

concrete by reducing the amount of steel

used in overlaps and avoiding congestion

within the concrete.

Bartek Systems Couplers are produced

from Carbon Steel alloys with high tensile

strength characteristics. The couplers are

being produced with automatic CNC

machines to ensure higher precision to the

thread and make our coupler superior or

equal to the highest standards.

Bartek Systems couplers are suitable for

mechanical splices with reinforcing bars

made according to DIN 488:86,

BS4449:1997, ASTM A615.

Couplers

BARTEK SYSTEMS Coupler Splicing System Bartek Systems coupler splice is designed to connect two steel rebars without torque wrench;

the installation is fast and simple which increases the productivity and reduce the factor of

worker’s related mistakes.

Bartek Systems coupler spliced connection offers a higher

safety since the breaking load capacity of the splice is higher

than the steel rebar itself: Bar Break System.

The high strength of the coupler connection is being

achieved by cold forging. The pressed rebar end has a larger

core diameter than the bar to ensure that the joint is

stronger than the rebar.

Parallel metric threads are cut on the enlarged ends, the cold

pressing eliminate the risk of steel characteristic changes which

may occur if any other splicing method involving heating has

been used. Bar break couplers are recommended for the

applications with highest safety requirements.

The couplers are available in the standard diameters of 12 mm to 40 mm. Other diameters

could be produced upon request, and special coupler types can also be produced depending

on any project’s requirement.

BARTEK SYSTEMS “P” Parallel rib peeling direct rolling

Bartek Systems “P” coupler splice is designed for the connection of the steel rebars with

the use of torque wrench.

The threading process is simple and requires one machine only.

The system provides safe and simple installation which promotes the productivity at

site.

Bartek Systems “P” coupler splice connection offers a breaking load capacity at least

equal to that of the used steel rebar.

The couplers are available from Ø12mm – Ø40mm.

Fix and rotate the coupler to the rear of the thread on the fixed bar and lock tight. The bar end should be

central within the coupler.

Remove the plastic cap from the coupler. Position and rotate the continuation bar in the coupler.

Tighten the joint using wrench on the continuation bar. After tightening there should be more than 2 - 4 mm of the thread

exposed, depending on the diameter of the rebar.

Bartek Systems Type – A

This is used where the continuation bar can be rotated. The end

of the bars are upset and threaded for half length of the

coupler.

Bartek Systems Type – B

This is used where it is not possible to rotate the

continuation bar. Therefore the thread of the

continuation bar is extended to full coupler length.

Bartek Systems Type – C

This type has an additional locknut and is used where

the continuation bar cannot be rotated. The

continuation bar is threaded for full coupler length

plus the length of the locknut.

Fix the coupler to the rear of the thread on the continuation bar.

Position the continuation bar with the coupler against the end of the first bar.

Rotate the coupler from the continuation bar to engage against the rear of the tread

on the opposing bar and lock tight.

Using wrench, rotate the continuation bar to lock the two bar ends against each other. After tightening, the length of exposed

thread should not be more than half of the coupler length plus 2 - 4 mm depending on

the diameter of the rebar.

Turn the locknut followed by the coupler to the rear of the thread on the continuation bar.

Position the continuation bar with the coupler against the end of the first bar.

Rotate the coupler from the continuation bar to engage against the rear of the thread on the

opposing bar and lock.

BARTEK SYSTEMS “H” Hydraulic Pressed Couplers

Advantages:

High tensile strength to meet the German standard (DIN 1045), British standard (BS

8110)

The hydraulic pressing method of our couplers complies with ACI439 3.3.1 cold swaged

steel coupling sleeve.

According to the requirement of ACI439 type I, par. 1.1.2, the tensile strength of the

splice should reach 1.25 times of the yield strength of the same rebars used for the

splice, while the type II should achieve the same tensile strength of the rebars. Take

splicing DIN 488, ASTM A615/A615M Grade 60(420) for type I, tensile strength of splice

needs to reach 1.25*420=525 MPa; if type II, tensile strength of splice needs to be

higher than 620 MPa (Grade 60 bar’s min tensile strength). For our standard hydraulic

pressing couplers, they meet type I and type II when splicing DIN 488, ASTM

A615/A615M Grade 40/Grade 60, ASTM A706/A706M and other similar rebars, for

higher strength steel bar, we can supply higher strength couplers.

Rotate the locknut along the continuation bar.

Hold the rebar in its required orientation and with a wrench tighten the locknut against the

coupler.

Chemical couplers

Chemical Coupler is a half-threaded mechanical splicing system specially designed for the

connection of precast concrete elements and filling connection sleeve design. Structural

reinforcement for concrete structures, structural design, there should be the implementation of

the provisions of the current national standard "design of concrete structures" GB 50010,

"Seismic Design Code" GB 50011, "Technical Specification for prefabricated concrete

structures".

Bolt couplers

The Bolt Couplers are used for splicing any grade or

profile of reinforcing bar. These couplers are made for

reinforcement steel with diameters in the range of 10

mm to 40 mm. Connection is made by inserting bars

into both ends of the coupler. The breaking bolts are

then screwed by hand and tightened by ratchet

wrench until bolts shear off. These couplers can be

used in particular cases to replace the damaged

reinforcements with new ones and to connect to old

structure.
