When mounting the but plate base please consider that the gross serrated part must be on the right hand side. The serration on this side is uncontinuous.This will prevent the but plate from falling off from the base if the fixation screw is released too much.

1. Installation of the but plate

The but plate XTREME can be mounted on nearly every type of weapon. If you face problems in mounting the device on your rifle you have the possibility to use the universal guide plate.

First of all you have to remove the old butt plate from your rifle.On the lower part of the but plate XTREME you will find slotted holes for the fixation.For fixation you may use the screws of your old but plate. Be sure to check that the head of the screw do not touch the moving part of the but plate. If the head of the screw touches the moving part of the but plate you must either shorten the screw or use screws with a lower head.

2. Super grip rubber 5mm and 10mm

The Super Grip rubber is available in either 5mm or 10mm height and can be used for all disciplines.The Super Grip rubber can be mounted separately on the upper and lower blade and on the top of the but plate body. For all positions you have the possibility to switch between the different sizes or you can also mount one by one of the Super Grip rubber.

The Super Grip rubber can be fixed on the backside by means of torx screws. Please use the tool included (Torx 10).To mount the Super Grip rubber on the lower blade you need to remove the lower blade from the body of the but plate. This is the only way to gain access to the undermost torx-screw!

3. Adjustment of the upper and lower blade

The inclination of the upper and lower blade can be adjusted. Please consider at every time that you have to respect the effective regulations.

The operation of adjustment is the same for the upper and the lower blade.

First you need to release the blade fixation screw. Note that a half turn is far enough! Now you can insert the tool in the rear part of the blade. Turning the allen set screw inclines or declines the blade.

Clockwise = declines the bladeCounterclockwise = inclines the blade

After having adjusted the position of the blades as desired please check to tighten up the fixation screw.

Caution:

Please check that you do not exceed the maximum distance of 20mm between the connecting line of the highest point from the upper and lower blade, and the lowest point of the but plate body!Otherwise you do not respect the ISSF regulations any more!

To control the correct settings put a straight object over the upper and lower blade and measure the distance to the but plate body.

For adjustment of the vertical axis use the fixation screw showed in the picture on the side.On the right side of the but plate base you will find a scale which assists you in finding the right position for your but plate. To adjust simply release the fixation screw by one turn. To move the plate push the released fixation screw and find the desired position of the plate. Once the desired position achieved you may tighten thefixation screw and the job is done.

You have the possibility to move the but plate in vertical direction approximately 12cm. Please make sure that the clamping jaw is in full touch with the but plate base also in the upper position. This is the only way to achieve a secure clamping between the base and the plate.

For radial adjustment release the vertical fixation screw by one turn. Then you have to push on the fixation screw. This releases the clamp mechanism and allows you to execute adjustment without using too much power (is necessary for a smooth adjustment).To facilitate the radial adjustment you will find a baseline on the left side of the but plate base. One of the serration grooves is slightly deeper. This is the baseline which indicates a zero inclination.You have the possibility to alter the radial position of the but plate by 15° in each direction.

4. Adjustment of the blade spacing

The spacing between the upper and lower blade can be adjusted. For the upper blade you can choose from 4 different settings, for the lower blade there are 2 possibilities.The setting for the different positions can be accomplished using the screws on the backside of the but plate body.

Upper blade settingRemove both fixation screws of the upper blade and push the whole mechanism in the desired position. Bear in mind that the mechanism has to remind in his guideway during this operation.Once you have the blade in the desired position you can put the fixation screws back in and tighten them.Make sure that at least the upper screw is engaged by all means!

Lower blade settingRemove both fixation screws of the lower blade and push the whole mechanism in the desired position. Bear in mind that the mechanism has to remind in his guideway during this operation.Once you have the blade in the desired position you can put the fixation screws back in and tighten them.Make sure that at least the lower screw is engaged by all means!

5. Adjustment of the vertical and radial axis

This screw must be insertet by all means in the same position

Coution!Bear in mind to mount the inner (variable) screw as for as possible away from the outer screw to gain a maximum of stability.

6. Seesaw inclination

As a special feature you have the possibility to adjust the seesaw inclination. This gives you enhanced grip in different positions.

The inclination can be adjusted on the left side of the but plate. As for all other operations you need to release the fixation screw first. You also need to release the secondary fixation screws.Once released, you can adjust the seesaw inclination with the upper and lower positioning screw.

Alteration of the seesaw inclination

1. release the seesaw fixation screw2. release the secondary fixation screws no. 1 and 2. The seesaw is no longer blocked and can now be adjusted by means of

the positioning screws.

Information:The positioning screws are meant to adjust the seesaw inclination. If you have both screws on the stop position the seesaw is blocked mechanically.

3. Once the seesaw is in the desired position you have to tighten the secondary fixation screws no. 1 and 2.

Caution!

For every adjustment of the seesaw inclination it is essential to follow the instruction 1-3 as described above.Please make sure that you never try to adjust the seesaw inclination without primarily releasing the secondary fixation screws no. 1 and 2.

7. Changement from standard to free rifle but plate

You have the possibility to change your standard but plate into a free rifle but plate. In order to do so you need the complete hook.Depending on execution of your but plate you can choose between the following options:

- Hook complete (without super grip rubber)- Hook complete with 5mm super grip rubber- Hook complete with 10mm super grip rubber

To accomplish the change you first need to remove the lower blade unscrewing it from behind. Remove the whole mechanism and replace it with the hook. For a correct positioning of the hook insert it first into the guideway, and then push the mechanism gently upwards in order to insert the positioning bolt into the boring of the body. The hook can be fixed with the same screws you previously used to fix the lower blade.

Note: The Hook complete (without super grip rubber) comes with only one positioning bolt!

After having mounted the hook on the but plate it can easily be adjusted using the two cardan joints.You also have the possibility to replace the short spacer with the longer one (1cm longer).The hook is assembled in a way that allows you to access the screws from every direction.If the position of the hook fixation screw is disturbing for you, you have the possibility to interchange the two cardan joints. The consequence of doing so is that the head of the screws is now pointing in the opposite direction.Please keep in mind that under every head of the cardan fixation screw there must be a lock washer!This is mandatory to grant the stability and positioning of the hook.
