Consumer protection is a group of laws and organizations

designed to ensure the rights of consumers as well as fair

trade, competition and accurate information in the

marketplace. The laws are designed to prevent businesses

that engage in fraud or specified unfair practices from

gaining an advantage over competitors. They may also

provide additional protection for those most vulnerable in

society

Consumer protection laws are a form of

government regulation, which aim to protect the rights

of consumers. For example, a government may require

businesses to disclose detailed information about

products—particularly in areas where safety or public

health is an issue, such as food. Consumer protection is

linked to the idea of consumer rights, and to the

formation of consumer organizations, which help

consumers make better choices in the marketplace and

get help with consumer complaints.

Lets take an example..its very easy….say…I cheat you guys by telling that after every 2 slides there will be the a A.B.B. But there will be nothing after 2 slides. Well if it was me I would just give the publisher a piece of my mind and let him know that he has done a great job by fooling people….now he will get views, maybe a lot but I can bet that he will get more ‘dislikes’ in his overall.

The consumer movement is an effort to

promote consumer protection through an

organized social movement which is in many places

led by consumer organizations. It advocates for the

rights of consumers, especially when those rights

are infringed by the actions

of corporations, governments, and other

organizations which provide products and services to

consumers.

1. Try to resolve the issue with the trader yourself.2. Put your complaint in writing. Outline the date of purchase, your problem and your preferred remedy. Page 15 of Warranties and refunds has a sample letter of demand you can follow.3. If this doesn't produce a satisfactory result, and your complaint involves a local business, you can contact the office or ministry of fair trading in your state or territory. These are government agencies responsible for state and territory consumer protection and they may be able to provide you with further help.4. If this fails, you may lodge a claim at the Consumer Courts

Consumers have the right to seek redressal against unfair

trade practices and exploitation.

If any damage is done to a consumer, he or she has the

right to get a compensation, depending on the degree of

damage.

There is a need to provide an easy and effective public

system by which this can be done

Ben had sent a money order to his house for his daughter's marriage. The money did not reach his daughter at the time when she needed it, nor did it reach months later. So Ben filed a case in the district level consumer court and practised right to seek redressal……if you have not understood this..i’llexplain. It says that a person has rights to know about his personal problems like sending a post card or a package or anything…. But I hope you understood.
