Based on the Bali’s economic performance in the first three quarters 2018, it shows

positive acceleration. The first quarter of 2018 reached 5.62 percent growth, the second

quarter reached 6.09 percent growth, and the third quarter is expected to continue

accelerating in the range of 6.10 – 6.50 percent. The acceleration of Bali's 2018

economic performance is expected to be driven by the increasing performance of

the four main business sectors namely agriculture, processing industry,

construction, transportation and warehousing.

WEST NUSA TENGGARA

On the sidelines of a coordination meeting between ministers on the aftermath of

the West Nusa Tenggara earthquake, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said the

country might lose as many as 100,000 foreign tourist visits within the first

month after the earthquakes. He explained that the earthquakes had affected the

business of at least 200 Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agency

(ASITA) members based in West Nusa Tenggara. The material losses from the

drop in tourist visits would be significant, as the foreign tourists in Indonesia

spend around US$ 1,200 each on average.

EAST NUSA TENGGARA

East Nusa Tenggara Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Agency head Ganef

Wurgiyanto said on Tuesday that the province already had three seaweed-

processing plants, namely in Kupang, Sumba Timur and Sabu Raijua. Therefore,

they are inviting businesspeople to build factories to process seaweed, of which

the province has enough resources to supply the food industry. The raw material

of the seaweed for t he three factories was cultivated on some 51,000 hectares of

the sea that produced seaweed of very high quality due to the balance of rainfall

and sunshine. He encourages investors to develop seaweed-processing factories

in those areas.
