Introduction

Our two-day CPD accredited (15 CPD hours) Construction Planning and Project Controls training is not focussed on planning software "pushing buttons" but on the systems, processes and procedures of undertaking construction planning and integrated project controls throughout the project lifecycle.

The training is drawn from best practices in both contractor and client environments in the delivery of mega and complex programmes like London2012 Olympics, Crossrail and High Speed 2 (HS2). It uses examples from them to demonstrate the application in robust planning and project controls.

Who is this Training for

The training teaches construction delivery professionals (planners, cost engineers, project managers, engineers, construction & site managers, contract managers) how to undertake construction planning with emphasis on an integrated approach to project controls hence enabling their organisations to enhance their project controls capability.

The training is also essential for Engineers that are keen to transition into planning and project controls and we also provide Primavera P6 training to facilitate this process.

The course was filled with quality content and after completing the course, it had surpassed what I had imagined. It is delivered well and the manual is filled with everything an aspiring planner will need.I also attended PM Excellence's interview preparation I had a successful interview with one of the leading companies who deal with project controls. Many thanks to PM Excellence and best of luck.

Sean Condron, Project Engineer - High Speed 2

I recently took the "Construction Planning Training" course with PM Excellence. This was a very interactive and informative course! I don't think I can recommend it enough. In those two days I've learned so many things and the good thing is if you don't understand something the tutor will explain it to you as many time as he have to so you can actually understand it. It's a very practical course for future planners and for people who are already in the industry. Cheers Patrick!

Nikolay Vasilev, Senior Planner - Price Building Services - New Tottenham

Hotspur Stadium

After being advised by a friend about PM Excellence's training, I decided to come to London from Spain to take both Construction planning and Primavera P6 training. One month after completing the training, I got a job with a well-known engineering company in London as a construction planner on Crossrail 2. PM Excellence covered all my expectations to become a planner and thanks to them I got involved in this professional field promptly, I strongly recommend them.

Daniel Urrea, Arup - Crossrail 2

I have recently undertaken the "Construction Planning Training" course with PM Excellence and I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Patrick was our trainer over the two day course & to be honest, I could have done with another day to absorb the information that is provided on this course. Patrick is an absolute mine of information. The course material was clear & well laid out. He took time to explain everything very well & listened to all questions and answered them clearly. The course covers every stage of project planning from beginning to end &, as I say, the volume of material, information & knowledge available from the course is priceless.

On a personal note, the after-course support is excellent, & I will be taking further courses with PM Excellence.

Stewart Andrew, Senior Engineer -Crossrail Anglia

The course was great, very straight forward and very clear. It shows clearly what it means to be a planner, what to do and how to do it. I am very happy for taking the course and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in becoming a planner or wants to improve their skills.

Bogdan Gandac, Project Planner -Affinity Water Project

This was a very comprehensive training about everything Project Controls. From the fundamentals of planning, to the nitty gritty of quantitative risk analysis, cost management, programme reporting, etc., the trainee should come out of this course with confidence about the whole spectrum of project controls. I believe the training is not confined only to Construction Planning, as everything I learned applies fully to my Oil and Gas Industry. The trainer exudes a lot for passion for the profession of Project Controls, and that should rub off on anyone attending.

Emmanuel Kirunda, Project Delivery Engineer - Tullow Oil Plc

This two days course covers all the topics needed for Planning Engineers and is explained with real examples from real projects the trainer has been involved. This course is not about computers or software but about knowledge and understanding of the processes. You can also ask questions at any moment to make sure you don't miss the point in any of the topics.I would highly recommend this training to anyone with some construction experience who wants to pursue a Planning career.

Juan C. Perez Castillo, Senior Project Controls Engineer - Turner &

Townsend

A definite training to attend for anyone who has worked in Major projects and wants to move into Project PlanningProject planning explained with good presentation and course notes. I will recommend PM Excellence to anyone who wants to get into Construction Project Planning.

Femi Akinrele, Freelance Planner

The whole two days were pitched well, he kept the energy level up, was practical, professional and really built my confidence and showed me areas to concentrate on in the real world.
