A newsletter for Orange Regional Medical Center employees, physicians and volunteers
From The President & CEO
Scott BatulisPresident & CEO
The Thanksgiving season is a time to reflect on all we have to be thankful for, especially this year as we continue to grow and expand. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, employees and physicians for your commitment in going above and beyond for our patients and their families. We receive many words of praise through letters, comments and emails submitted by patients and family members. They describe the
extraordinary things that our staff does every day.
While we are great at taking care of others, we must also make it our goal to take care of ourselves. I encourage you to be role models for our patients by eating healthy, exercising regularly and getting enough rest. The benefits you reap from caring for yourself will have a positive effect on your family while also helping you deliver quality care to our patients.
I am thankful that Orange Regional is stable and strong while many hospitals and healthcare systems continue to struggle. I feel grateful to be part of a system that our community can count on in a time of need. In order for this to continue, we must all remain dedicated and work together. Thank you for providing me the opportunity to work with you. Together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of our patients and our community.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Sincerely,
Scott Batulis, President & CEO

Halloween Happenings Staff celebrated in style this year by dressing up in costumes in recognition of Halloween! From our President & CEO and the Executive Team to the IT Department – all staff that participated really got into the spirit!
Biomedical Team Educates Staff With Halloween Costume
The Biomedical team, who make sure that medical equipment we use for patient care is always functional, used a Halloween costume as a learning tool. The team made a 5-foot enlargement of the Alaris Pump, which is a large volume infusion pump that helps continuously or intermittently deliver fluids, medications, blood and blood products to patients. They visited nursing stations all over the hospital to deliver information on the importance of instrument maintenance. To view more photos, visit the Family Photo Album at ormc.org/mediagallery.
Educating Our Community On Halloween, Orange Regional Safety Manager Henry Ruckdeschel, Security Manager Gregg Hough, and Manager of Emergency Management, Robin Masiero, handed out literature (as well as candy and goodies) at Home Depot in celebration and recognition of Fire Safety/Fire Prevention. Attendees were encouraged to change the batteries in their smoke detectors when they turned clocks back that night.
