Home Group HomeworkFor the week of November 20, 2016

GETTING TO KNOW ME:Finish these sentences: • My favorite part of middle school was…

• The best meal I’ve ever eaten was…

• The worst trip I’ve ever been on was…

REVIEW:What stood out to you from the weekend’s message?

DIGGING DEEPER:We are bringing our All In series to a close with a closer examination of faith. This is an examination not of what we believe but what we do, and how our faith drives us to action.

1. The most common word for faith used in the New Testament is the Greek word pistis, which means: “conviction of the truth, trust, or commit.” How does this definition compare with your view of faith?

Read: Hebrews 11:6-30 2. Why is faith so often thought of in terms of believing something rather

than doing something?

Page 4: Connection Card Missions Weekly Services SATURDAY, 6pm · Online 477 On Campus 3,462 Additions to date 214 Weekly Services SATURDAY, 6pm Adult Worship Interpreted for the Deaf Bibleopolis

The homework is now available to do and save on the MPCC App! Click: Connect – Adults – Home Groups – Date (of homework)

3. We all live our lives on faith whether we realize it or not. Make a list of all the things you do based on faith. (This can be a practical list, i.e. I have faith my brakes will slow my car when I press them.)

4. Hebrews 11:6 says, that without faith it is impossible to please God; is pleasing God a priority for you?

a. How do you think your relationship with God might change if you focused on only doing things that pleased Him?

We know Abraham was challenged to prove his faith when God called him to sacrifice his son.

5. Do you believe you’ve ever been challenged to prove your faith? (Explain)

6. Have you ever seen the power of God at work in your life or the life of someone else?

APPLICATION 1. God wants to connect with you in every way possible. What is one

area of your life where you struggle to connect with God?

2. What are two things you can do this week to help you connect with God in the above area?

3. How do you need to finish this sentence: “God, today I am trusting you to…”

4. What is one thing you need to do in order to put your faith into action?

PRAYER REQUESTS:
