WARD 4 COUNCILLOR UPDATE

There will be an open house in Conklin on August 20, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, which I will be attending. Hope to see you all there. Information from Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Staff will be offered on:

1. Rural Water and Sewer 2. Conklin Multi-plex 3. Hauling of water and sewer 4. Rural Recreation Programming

The Waste Transfer station in Janvier opened on June 25th. For the first time recycling services are available in Janvier. The station is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm and will be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Among the materials accepted here are: paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metals and beverage containers. Even some household equipment can be recycled here like clean fridges and freezers, tires, propane tanks, batteries and concrete. The facility is also designed to keep residents safe from wildlife with animal-control fencing and bear-proof bins. At the rural development meeting at City hall in June, the discussion was on senior/elder housing in the rural. Wood Buffalo Housing Development was present. I would like to thank Almer Herman from Janvier and Jeffrey O’Donnell representing the CRDAC from Conklin for doing a presentation. There was a lively discussion. Hopefully we can move forward with some of the suggestions from both gentlemen. The Willow Lake Community Association held an important open house with the RCMP present in Anzac. With the constant thefts of off highway vehicles, it was decided at the meeting to work towards the Citizen on Patrol (C.O.P.) program. For any good deeds or concerns please e-mail [email protected] or telephone 780-334-0516.
