What is it? Conjunctivitis or Pink-Eye is an irritation

and inflammation of the Conjunctiva (layer which covers the sclera (white portion of the eyeball))

It is spread through eye secretion contact. (I rub my eyes you rub your eyes, etc)

Symptoms? Redness Itching Tearing of the Eye Discharge Crusting around the eye

Causes? There are many things that can lead to

pink-eye including: Allergies Bacterial Infections Viral Infections Damage to the Conjunctiva

Prevention? REDUCE CONTACT WITH THOSE WITH

PINK –EYE, AVOID PEOPLE WITH PINK-EYE, IT IS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS

Make sure you’re contact lenses are clean

Do not rub your eyes, especially if ill. DO NOT SHARE EYE DROPS.

Treatment & Cures? Usually it will clear up on its own within a

few days, however if…. Caused by Bacterial Infection treatment can

be accelerated using antibiotic drops Caused by Allergies can be treated with

Antihistamines. Medicated Eye drops can reduce itching.
