Initiation If interested in exploring the Catholic Faith or completing the Sacraments of Initiation as an adult or youth, contact Catechetical Ministry at 296-1193 x 104.
Marriage Couples registered within the parish are required to make arrangements at least six months prior to the date of marriage by calling 296-1193 and must complete a Marriage Preparation Program.
Sacrament of the Sick If you know of any parishioner who is ill, at home, or in the hospital, please notify the Parish Office so our Eucharistic Ministers of the Sick may bring communion or anointing can be arranged.
Baptism Infant baptism is celebrated following completion of our parish Baptism Preparation Program. New and expectant parents are invited to call the Parish Office at 296-1193.
Youth Confirmation High School Youth Confirmation is celebrated during the Easter Season. Registration occurs in the summer.
This Saturday we witness the Confirmation of 34 young people at our 5:00 p.m. Mass. It is a sign of hope for us that these youth are willing to profess the faith we share and accept the sealing and strengthening of the Holy Spirit, such that their lives are forever changed. This group of teens is unique in that most of them have been active members of this parish community since before First Eucharist. It has been a true joy to see them grow throughout the years. We celebrate their decision to be fully initiated Roman Catholic Christians. The Sacrament of Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation not graduation. As any self-reflecting adult knows, we are never “done” growing in our faith and spiritual understanding. The effect of Confirmation is a mystical one, an enduring bond in which Christ cements His claim on His people through the outpouring of the gifts of the Spirit.
Our parish is blessed to have a dedicated Confirmation preparation team, to whom our parish owes a debt of gratitude: Cecilia Adachi, Aileen Balce, Christy Jacobs, Lillian Kwiatkowski, Mat O’Donnell, George Solanzo, and Louise Sumpter and Karen Wheeler. Are our teens fully versed in every Catholic doctrine? Have they read the Bible front to back? Have they all experienced mystical union with Christ in prayer? No. But we, as a community of faith, fear not. For the Holy Spirit has come and continues to rain down gifts on the people of God. God’s not done with us yet.

A 7.8‐magnitude earthquake struck Nepal in the late morning of April 25, toppling buildings and homes,
causing widespread panic, and claiming thousands of lives. Our
Church mourns the terrible suffering of our brothers and sisters
affected by this powerful earthquake. Please join with the Catholic community across the
United States in responding to our suffering brothers and sisters
through a special collection for the work of Catholic Relief Services in
Nepal. CRS is the official humanitarian agency of the
Catholic community in the U.S. and is already responding to urgent needs for shelter, water and food in
Nepal.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER Last Sunday we heard the familiar passage from John’s Gospel in which Jesus uses the metaphor of the vine and the branches. In that passage we were told that if we remained in Christ we would bear much fruit. Today’s Gospel tells us just what that fruit is: love. Today’s second reading and Gospel together create a great hymn to love. The chorus of this hymn is simple—God loves us so much that Jesus was sent into the world so that we would have life. The Lord Jesus, who last week told us to remain in him, this week tells us to remain in his love. In a world marked by division and terrorism, the Lord’s final words in today’s Gospel are a great challenge: “This I command you: love one another.” - Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
