Structure of Your Program

Phase I - It contains 8 introductory assignments, intended for the integration and projection at the personal, academic, professional and

social level. In general, our students are able to complete this phase within 15 days of their enrollment

Phase II – It is the central part of the program. It consists of the elaboration of your Bibliography, 4 – 5 essays based on the multidisciplinary books on current tendencies

recommended by AIU. On the other hand you will have the opportunity to develop your curriculum design, in which you will define the courses that you will like to

develop at this stage of your studies. Once such curriculum design is submitted and approved by your assigned academic advisor, your will have to complete and submit

each of the assignments that you proposed.

Phase III – It consists of the Final Thesis of your program. Note that this part could be exempt in some cases. This phase can be completed

within 60 days.

Phase IV – It is an administrative phase, and it refers to the reception of final documentation and handling of graduation paperwork. You will

have to submit the necessary documents within 7 days after completion of the academic requirements.

Questionnaire The first thing that will appear when you log in is our initial questionnaire.

Please make sure to take a few minutes to answer these 13 questions , if you do not understand something there is reading material to clarify your doubts. If

you still have questions we will contact you to clarify. This will ensure you begin your program on the Right Foot!

Important Note about Questionnaire

In order to avoid the questionnaire to pop up every time you log on, please make sure you answer ALL 13

questions. If there is something that is not clear, each question has text and audio you can listen to, to further

clarify.

Your Student Page In your student page you will find all the tools to begin

to work and complete your academic program.

Upload Your Photo You can personalize your student page by uploading your

photo. You can also use this photo to request your Student ID

Personal Information We ask that you please update your Personal Information,

make sure it is always current.

Transcripts You can always view your academic progress on your homepage, with the

percentage you have completed of your program and the credits earned

You can view the assignments that have been graded and how many credits you have received under Personal Information and click on Transcript

Two-Ways to Complete Assignments

Online (Recommended):

•Fill out as much information as you can step by step.

•You can edit the information you have given, simply click BACK.

•When you have completed all steps and you are sure that there is no additional information you want to provide AIU, simply click on “Upload the assignment for grading”

Two-Ways to Complete Assignments

Offline:

AIU allows you to complete this course if you are not necessarily

connected to the internet.

If you select this option you will need to save the format in your computer, then fill it out completely and submit it for evaluation.

We recommend you also check the EXAMPLE on Step 3 so you know what AIU is expecting from you in regards to this course.

Document Management For Offline, option you will find documents, under

Document Management you will always find the instructions, formats, examples and explanations for your

assignments.

Under Phase I Documents you will find a link with all of your assignments, these are the ones that begin with the word COURSE

Sending Assignments (Offline) To schedule the evaluation of your assignments click

on Icon that says, “SUBMIT AN ASSIGNMENT”

and your tentative dates for submission

Sending Assignments (Offline) When you are ready to turn in your assignments simply click SUBMIT OFFLINE

Be sure to submit the assignment under the correct name and click UPLOAD FOR GRADING

Tips for Assignments All of our assignments are in PDF format. You will

need to download Adobe Acrobat, you can download it at http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

To view the videoconferences be sure your computer has a flash player, you can download one at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. Also be sure to open them in INTERNET EXPLORER, they do not work if you open them in mozilla/firefox or google chrome.

TurnItIn We pride ourselves in our students being the best. In order to avoid

confusions about the originality of your academic essays you can verify them via TurnItIn under Academic Information. You can also see a detailed report of what is found from outside sources. This tool must be used for the Major Courses you will submit during Phase II and Phase III, not for Phase I.

Communications with AIU Through your academic program with AIU you will

have the guidance of a tutor during all phases plus an academic advisor. You can communicate with them through your student page. They will reply to each message you send to them within 24-48 hours

Communications with AIU Through this section you can also view the answer to

your questions the advisor and tutor sent you as well as comments on your assignments

Payment Plan In addition to your academic

commitment there is your financial commitment. So that you always are aware of where you stand with your payments there is the Payment Plan section on the menu on the left hand side of your student page.

Remember that in order to receive your graduation documents you must complete all academic and financial obligations; pay off your tuition balance as well as your graduation fees.

Your payment plan and academic plan are independent and both must be fulfilled to be successful with your program.

Payment Plan You can see all the details of your Payment Plan on your student page including when your next payment is due and the amount

Features in Payment Plan In order for your payment made through Western Union,

MoneyGram and Wire Transfers to be applied to your tuition we need a copy of your receipt. Now you can upload the information through your student page.

Credit Card Payments You can also update your credit card information to make your

payments through your student section. We also have the Autopay option, so you do not have to worry about your tuition being late, it is automatically deducted from your credit card, if you are interested in this option please contact studentservices@aiu.edu
