0 CONFIRMATION SUNDAY, MARCH 13TH, 2016

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of our confirmation season for this year. It feels just like last week that we were kicking things off with our opening breakfast. Now, after 10 weeks of learning, growing, laugh-ing, making new friends, seeing new sights and experiencing God in new and powerful ways, St. Luke’s confirmands are ready to profess their faith in Jesus Christ and be confirmed as members of this wonderful church.

Confirmation Sunday will be next Sunday, March 13th. The confirmands will be recognized at the Sunday morning services that they and their families usually attend. Later that day, at 4:00 PM, we will have a confir-mation service in the Ministry Center followed by a celebration dinner at 5:00 PM.

You are invited to attend the confirmation service to show your love and support for these wonderful young men and women as they profess their faith in Christ and become members of St. Luke. You are also invited to join us for dinner afterwards. The cost of the dinner is $12.00 per person, and you will need to make a reservation with Erin Knight ([email protected], 706-327-4343) by Thursday, March 10th.

It has been my honor and privilege to lead these 33 students the past few months. I truly believe that God will use these students to do great and mighty things for his Kingdom.

Glory to God,

Brett Maddocks

Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another:

God, we are called to follow You, but we do not respond. We are commanded to love one another, but we continue in our old ways. We are asked to spread the Good News of Your love to every part of our world, but we find the mission too difficult. We do not love You with our whole heart, or our neighbors as ourselves. We come today looking for Good News. PLEASE LET US KNOW: Due to HIPAA privacy regulations, hospitals cannot notify us if you are a patient. If you or a loved one have to go to the hospital, please do not assume that the church office knows. We would rather hear about something ten times than not at all! You may call the church at 706-327-4343 at any time or call the pastors at home! Thanks so much.

“How Beautiful” Twila Paris/arr. Bruce Greer How beautiful the hands that served the wine and the bread and the sons of the earth. How beautiful the feet that walked the long dusty roads and the hill to the cross. How beautiful is the body of Christ. How beautiful the heart that bled, that took all my sin and bore it instead. How beauti-ful the tender eyes that chose to forgive and never despise. How beautiful is the body of Christ. And as He laid down His life we offer this sacrifice, that we will live just as He died, willing to pay the price. How beautiful the radiant bride who waits for her Groom with His light in her eyes. How beautiful when humble hearts give the fruit of pure lives so that others may live! How beau-tiful the feet that bring the sound of good news and the love of the King! How beautiful the hands that serve the wine and the bread and the sons of the earth! How beautiful! How beautiful is the body of Christ.

NEW MEMBERS: Robert and Juliette McCarley, who come by transfer of their membership from another United Methodist Church. Their children, Bradley and Miller, will be added to our preparatory roll.

Kathy Burton, who comes by transfer of her membership from another congregation.
