Configuration Content for RFID-Enabled EWM
Purpose SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (AII) is a site-level solution for managing Auto-ID enabled (serialized) objects – from commissioning, through reconciliation and association with business context. It enables organizations to configure business processes as a series of rules, which are triggered by events, and which, in turn result in activities as the validation, communication with devices in the network, transactions in the back-en business system, and communication with trading partners. Using a flexible technology as a base, SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure is delivered in association with applications within the SAP Business Suite. The preconfigured content between Auto-ID Infrastructure and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) allows your company to quickly take advantage of auto-ID and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. In associating business context to the raw data based on the physical movement of products within a warehouse through AII, you can update specific EWM transactions providing automation and visibility to your warehouse environment.
Integration The following figure provides an overview of the different system connections that are involved in RFID-enabled EWM.
EWM 5.1
CIF IDOC
The master data connection between ERP and EWM 5.1 is Core Interface (CIF). The connection between ERP and AII is Intermediate Document (IDOC), and the connection between EWM 5.1 and AII is Remote Function Call (RFC).
Prerequisites
You are using a fully functional ERP/EWM scenario (inbound and outbound)
You have set up connectivity between EWM and AII
You have set up your own materials (for example, EL_Mat1 and EL_Mat2)
You have set up your own packaging materials (for example, EL_Pal and EL_Box)
Use the following number range intervals:
SAP Library 1/28/2013
000.000.001 – 099.999.999 for EWM
100.000.000 – 699.999.999 for AII
700.000.000 – 999.999.999 for ERP
Look up an existing company prefix (ILN) (for example, 4004042) for later use in EWM.
