Module on Food/Nutrition Security and Public Policy is being taught as an elective subject under the Multi-Disciplinary Course in choice based credit system as specified by UGC. Dr Shanta Maria, Dean and Associate Professor, Department of Home Science coordinated the course under the able guidance of Dr Arpana, Principal, Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Faculty of four Departments participated in this Multi-Disciplinary Course - 1) Home Science 2) Nutrition 3) Political Science and 4) Economics. Ms Mary Regi Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics Dr Sundarvalli Associate Professor and HOD, Department of Home Science Dr Sangeetha Pandey Associate Professor and HOD, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics Dr V Padma Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics Ms Lakshmi Jithendran Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Home Science Ms Sauda Samreen Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Home Science Ms Alice Mathew Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Political Science A total of 21 students from the 3 rd Semester Post Graduate in MA/MSc., MCom, and MCA opted for the course. The students expressed great interest in the programme and were eager to be part of the solution.
