All components are mounted, wired, and tested as a complete system at the factory for simple “plug-and-play” installation. This latest uplink from ComtechTV includes the new, integrated, compact DAC700 digital audio codec. A single spare channel can automatically configure itself to match any online channel, so now you can build true, automatic backup into your network. These products were the first to utilize the industry standard ISO/MPEG Layer II audio compression, saving you 35 to 65% in recurring satellite transmission costs when compared to alternative networks. ComtechTV digital audio networks are in use in more than 50 countries, sending audio information to customers of these diverse businesses: National radio networks, including multiple channels for different languages Automated commercial radio distribution Interactive audio information, or “audiotext” In-store audio for retailers with regional ads The uplink includes the Codecs, modems, and redundancy switches in a prewired audio rack. Built into each audio uplink rack is an ABR202 receiver that can monitor the audio, data, and relay closure signals being transmitted on any channel. The Audio Network Management System and RF Terminal are available as options. Each digital audio channel includes audio, an RS-485 network control channel, up to 16 input cue signal controls, and asynchronous RS-232 user data. All inputs are multiplexed and compressed into a single digital data stream for transmission. The multichannel rack includes an audio patch panel so that you can monitor all critical points within the audio path for each channel, reroute signals, and patch between channels. Or monitor audio right from the rack using the built-in audio amplifier with speakers and headphone jacks. A two-channel VU metering system provides accurate, individual signal-level monitoring. ( O P T I O N )The ANMS computer is a central monitor and control point for yournetwork, including all audio uplink equipment. Using ANMS, you alsoget network data- base storage and manipulation, downlink receiver operation, and reporting of network uplink equipment configuration.

The ANMS can be at the uplink site or at anotherlocation, connected to the uplink by terrestrial lines.
