FOREWORD Since 1924 the American Petroleum Institute Production Department has provided, through its voluntary standardization program, a means to facilitate the broad availability of safe, interchangeable products. This is being accomplished through the two elements of the API standardization program. The first element provides a forum for the formulation of standards. A catalog of publications and materials is published annually and is available through the API Publications and Distribution Section. The second element includes a licensing program to consistently, objectively, and reliably identify manufacturers who are capable of producing products that consistently conform to API specifications. A listing of those manufacturers licensed by the API Production Department are shown in this publication.

USING THIS COMPOSITE LIST This composite list is designed to serve not only to promote the use of API specified products but as a guide for purchasing products produced to those specifications. Using API specifica-tions in the procurement and manufacture of products benefit both the purchasers and manu-facturers of those products. It provides and standardizes purchase requirements allowing cost effective production. Any manufacturer may use an API specification and may claim his product meets API stand-ards without being licensed by API. However, only those manufacturers who are licensed by API are allowed to mark their products with the API monogram. To understand the procedure that is used to license a manufacturer please see the appendices to this composite list. Note that the API monogram on a product has two meanings. First, it is a warranty by the manufacturer that each individual item which bears the monogram con-formed, in every detail, with the API specification applicable at the time of manufacture. Second, it shows an acknowledgement that a manufacturer has been accredited by API against specific API standards. The additional benefits under the licensing program are cost effective manufacturer evaluation and an assurance of quality standard products. Only manufacturers licensed by the API Production Department are shown in this Composite List. All manufacturers holding a valid license as of the date of this Composite List are shown. It is planned that this list will be updated semiannually with a supplement and republished annu-ally. To verify if a manufacturer has been licensed after the publication of this list, please con-tact the API Production Department as shown on page l. The alphabetical listing shows licensee name and address along with the API specifications used in the production of their products. The classified listing is grouped by API Spec showing licensee name, location and specific product lines produced under that API Spec.
