TRAINED MORE THAN 100,000 JHSC MEMBERS

IN PAST 15 YEARS†

CERTIFIED TO ISO 9001:2008

† Source: WSPS Order/Registration system

WHY JHSC CERTIFICATION TRAINING? If you’re a company with 20 or more workers, the law requires you have to a Joint Health & Safety Committee. At least two members of a JHSC must be certified by completing special training. JHSC certification is about more than health & safety — it also makes good business sense. When committee members are well-trained, they’re better at identifying hazards and making improvements — and they’re better health & safety leaders.

CERTIFICATION IS A TWO-PART PROCESSIn Part One, you learn health & safety fundamentals, health & safety and the law, the RACE process (Recognize, Assess, Control and Evaluate), and the responsibilities of JHSC members in maintaining a healthy, safe workplace.

In Part Two, you build on what you’ve learned in Part One, this time focusing more on applying the concepts of hazard recognition, assessment, control and evaluation, drafting action plans and making recommendations.

One in five people in Canada will experience a mental health issue in any given year. Mental health is an essential aspect of overall workplace health & safety and organizational health, and yet, few organizations are properly equipped to manage it.

The National Standard on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace was launched in 2013 to promote employees’ psychological health and prevent psychological harm due to workplace factors.

Improved Engagement, Enhanced ProductivityStudies have consistently shown that workplaces with a positive approach to psychological health & safety (PHS) demonstrate:

Improved employee engagement
