Water Use In Japan & Afghanistan • Water management system is Excellent. Good use of Natural Resources like rivers, mountains & land but

In Afghanistan MoNR is not good and people destroy the environment purposely, Deforestation have been happing a lot & its effect the water Resources in the basin.

• In the Japan WRD & Management is at advance stage but in

the Afghanistan WRD & Management is undergoing development. (Before 1980 , 142 hydrological stations , Since 2008 till now 106

hydrological stations have been installed, and The water management department is

working on in order to have good water management.) • Modern technology & science are using for introducing

automation control of water in the intakes, canals & fields while staying in the office. In the Afghanistan we haven't reached in that stage yet.`

Water Resources Afghanistan has a relatively good volume of water recourse more than 70 % of the country’s

water resources come from snow melt in Hindu kush.

• In the Japan Water use efficiency is good provided that water losses through the canals are very low but In the Afghanistan losses of water in different irrigation schemes are high due to unlined canals (Earthen canals).

• In the Japan there are no Conflicts between upstream

and downstream user also farmers and livestock keepers. But In the Afghanistan there are conflicts between farmers and livestock keepers together with upstream & downstream users.

for agriculture is cooperate & modern but in the Afghanistan land development & management for agriculture is developing.

• In the Japan land has well improved through LID But in the Afghanistan authority & stakeholders are the one responsible for land improvement.

• In the Japan Field water management is the responsibility of

Land Improvement Establishment but in the Afghanistan Field water management involve water users associations & stakeholders from the government side.
