In the stories of Aladdin and Ali Baba the forty thieves there are many similarities and differences. First I am going to talk about the similarities then I will tell you about differences.

The first similarity is that they were both Arabian folktales. They were also both passed down by mouth. In those stories both have thieves and the thieves were very greedy. Compared both stories there was treasure and a lot of it. There was also a trickster with both stories. In Aladdin it was Aladdin but in Ali Baba it was Morgianna.

Some more similarities I thought are that both take place in Arabia. On the contrary the stories the things that happened in the stories are not very likely to happen in this time of the world. Also in the stories Ali Baba and Aladdin, Aladdin and Ali Baba were both kind.

Other similarities are that in the end Morginna and Aladdin get married. Both women are pretty. Both have main character and they both have to do with thieves.

Finally were on to differences. Some differences are that in in the movie a street rat becomes a

prince. The hero in the book Is Morginna compared to Aladdin where there is a trickster and not really a hero. Unlike 40 thieves, in Aladdin Jaffare had a bird that talks.

There are many differences between Ali Baba and Aladdin. One of those differences is that in 40 thieves there were 40 thieves in Aladdin there was no thieves just Aladdin and the greedy man.Like wise in Aladdin there was a magical genie who granted wishes. However in 40 thieves you needed a password to get into the cave.

Yet Aladdin was more a fantasy with talking animals and magic. On the other hand we watched the movie Aladdin. Instead we read the story Ali Baba and the 40 thieves. However in Aladdin everybody doesn’t like Aladdin. In Ali Baba nobody hated him.

Both stories had many similarities and differences. Both stories were good stories, but I think I liked Ali Baba just a tad bit more. I think I liked Ali Baba better because I had never heard it or read it.Both stories were good stories.
