NEED FOR STUDY
• There are many formulations told for mutrakrichra in Ayurveda. Shweta parpati and sheetal parpati are two such preparations
• It is usually prepared from kajjali or by adding some ingredients to kajjali.
• Sweta parpati is nirgandha, and sheetal parpati is sagandha preparation .
OBJECTIVES• Physical and chemical analysis of raw
materials• Shodhana of ingredients and preparation of
Shweta parpati and sheetal parpati. • Analytical study of prepared compounds&
Comparative evaluation of antimicrobial activity of both formulations on -
1) E.coli 2) Proteus mirabilis 3) Staphylococcus aureus 4) Candida albicans
Raw materials were purchased and authentificated.
Kalmisora nirmalikarana.
Preparation of ela hima.
Kalmisora shodhana -- in order to enhance its diuretic property.
MATERIALS & METHODS

ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES
QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS
Basic radicals : Na+, K+, NH4+, Al+3, Zn+2, Ba+2, Ca+2 ,
Mg+2
Acid radicals: Cl- , Br-, So4, No3 may be present in the compounds.
Determination of pH values-
It is noted about 4.19 in shweta parpati & 6.76 in sheetal parpati. by help of ph meter

Colony morphology for identification of micro organisms
1. S.aureus form large colonies of 2-4 mm dia, yellowish Circular clusters
2. E.coli form large ,thick grayish colonies.
3. P.mirabilis show swarming motility& negative to lactose.4. C.albicans are yeast like fungus .
5. Agar diffusion method-None of dilution show zone of inhi bition for any organisms.
6. Agar dilution method-A: Shweta parpati ,B: Sheetal parpati Growth indicated by +VE No growth indicated by -VE
CONCLUSION
1.The pH of both parpatis fall in range that is required for bacterial growth. So it can be said that action of parpatis are independent of change in pH.
2.The two parpatis show encouraging antimicrobial activities at different concentrations in different strains of bacteria.
3. Antibiotic susceptibility tests are not guarantee that an Anti microbial activity will be effective or ineffective
4.The general method of diagnosis in ayurveda is based on doshas like vata ,pitta and kapha. So ayurvedic formulations have different role in every human being.
5.This study gives a scope for in vivo studies regarding action of these formulations in reducing puss and albumin.
