Officially launched in 2009– Pan Canadian network of urban poverty reduction initiatives led by Tamarack Institute– National funder: J. W. McConnell Family Foundation– Local funding: Fortis, City of St. John’s, RBC, United Way, Dept of HRLE

Neighbourhood Summit – 100+ community partners and organizations participated

Engaging people to influencing public policy and programs – Poverty reduction strategy– Housing and homelessness forums

Gaining profile: Fundraiser Dancing with the Priests– Parish of the Ascension in Mount Pearl and the Anglican Diocese of Eastern NL– Raised $35,000 with pledges of about $10,000 over the next two years

Goal: assisting 1500 people out of poverty by the year 2012
