Changing the Social Norms Around Substance Use Disorder & The Impacts On
The People We Serve
CORR is the primary non-profit provider of substance abuse treatment services in Placer and Nevada Counties.Approximately 4,000 people access recovery related services at CoRRThree Campuses (Grass Valley, Auburn, Roseville) and three service centers (Truckee, Kings Beach, Lincoln)Continuum of family-focused services to support successful recovery.
The Campus Concept: a full continuum of services to address substance abuse, related behavioral health, primary care, and promote wellness, in a single, dignified setting •Withdrawal Management: Last year 179 individuals successfully detoxed at CoRR •Residential Inpatient Facility: Hope House housed 205 women last year and 38 of their children; Serenity House housed 220 men •Outpatient Center: with primary care; licensed therapists; child development center; Adolescent outpatient •Supportive Housing: 8 throughout the two counties including one in Truckee•Recovery Maintenance: Including ongoing peer support, aftercare services, and active alumni activities

meaning, purpose, positive communication connection• 97 Children were reunited with their families last year
• Improve community health and safety through accessible, integrated, and effective services• 75% of the women who completed their program are sober and
successfully integrated into the community today

Opiates and Primary Drugs of Abuse •New data released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that heroin use increased 63% between 2002 and 2013, and heroin-related overdose deaths have nearly quadrupled over the same time period. •One reason for the increase is that those who become addicted to pain killers turn to heroin when they are no longer able to access pain killers (oxy, norco, etc.)•Heroin is inexpensive compared to pills•Not long ago the drug trend was meth and today it’s heroin•Alcohol still #1 reason people enter treatment.•Marijuana is also addictive; one of ten users become dependent. Increasing people seeking treatment.
How CoRR is Addressing the Problem •Evidence based approaches of CBT, MI•Dr. Lasich specializes in pain management and can support medically-assisted withdrawal management. •A holistic approach to recovery: prevention, wellness, treatment services delivered by a multi-disciplinary staff including certified drug and alcohol counselors, licensed therapists, p/t psychiatrist and overseen by MD medical director.
CoRR in Truckee and Kings Beach!• CoRR served 374 clients in Truckee last year & 263 clients in
our Kings Beach location –plus 21 in the schools!
• Truckee: Outpatient Outclient Services for adults and
adolesents (SIP, ADAPT); Batterers Intervention Program/
Criminal Justice Services; Transitional Housing
• Kings Beach: Outclient Services; Assessment Services; Drug
Testing; Criminal Justice Services
ServicesOutclient Services for adults and adolescents: Individualized treatment
programs, usually 12 weeks to one year, evidence-based approaches of
CBT/MI, drug testing.
Transitional Housing: Women/women with children only in Truckee;
involved in outpatient (men in other parts of the county)
Criminal Justice Services: DUI, Drug Court, Prop. 36, Batterers Intervention
Program people referred through Courts/Probation
Adolescent Services• ADAPT: Adolescent outpatient services, individualized treatment plan, 12
weeks-one year.
• SIP: Student Intervention Program: A four-week intervention for adolescents cited for alcohol and other-drug related issues (provided at CoRR offices in Truckee).
• Schools Student Assistance Program—8-week behavioral intervention using evidence-based curriculum for students cited for under-the-influence or possession; referred primarily by school personnel, can be parents/student self referral; on campus at North Tahoe High and Truckee High
