Basic Welding Instructor: Adam Spatto This introductory course will teach you safety, oxyacetylene (Brazing & Gas) welding and cutting, and how to repair ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Also learn the basics of stick welding (shield metal arc). Students must provide their own helmet, safety glasses and leather work boots. No sneakers are allowed in class. All materials and supplies included in fee. Mondays: 5:30pm to 8:30pm Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28; Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25 Fee: $199 Intermediate Welding Instructor: Adam Spatto The two processes that will be focused on are Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG). Learn to weld stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. Also, learn to cut ferrous and nonferrous metal. Students must have taken Basic Welding or must provide proof of prior welding experience, no beginners please. Students must provide their own helmet, safety glasses and leather work boots. No sneakers are allowed in class. All materials and supplies included in fee. Wednesdays: 5:30pm to 8:30pm Oct. 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6, 13, 20, 27 Fee: $199 10-Hour OSHA Training Instructor: Dominick Timpano This course is intended to provide a variety of awareness training on construction safety and health topics. The course is presented to employees and therefore places an emphasis on identifying common hazards in the construction industry as well as avoidance, control and prevention. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an OSHA Construction Safety and Health 10 Hour card. Bring $5 to class for your card. First Aid / CPR/ AED Instructor: Kyle Roepnack The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Successful students will receive a certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED. A– Saturday: 9:00am to 4:00pm Sept. 28 Fee: $80 B– Saturday: 9:00am to 4:00pm Nov. 23 Fee: $80 Basic Computer Fundamentals Levels I, II and III Instructor: Jordan Purinton This is an introductory series for beginning computer users. Level I is designed for those who have little or no prior knowledge of PC equipment or software. Level II is for those who have basic computer experience or who have taken Level I. Social Media Series by: Kim Tranter Facebook Marketing Learn all about how businesses are using Facebook to increase or begin their online presence including how to set up your account, the proper use of photos, how to engage likes, how to respond to complaints and more. A—Thursdays: 6:00pm to 8:00pm Oct. 17 Fee: $29 B—Thursdays: 6:00pm to 8:00pm Nov. 14 Fee: $29 Social Media Overview Subjects include a general overview of the most popular social media platforms including Google Programs, Yelp, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Pinterest. Class participants are encouraged to engage in platforms that they are most interested in. Thursdays: 6:00pm to 9:00pm Nov.7 Fee: $39 Social Media Business Review Present your business and receive suggestions and practical advice on which social media platforms to participate in and best practices in each platform. Becoming An Actor Instructor: Paul Boehlert This course, designed for beginning and intermediate actors, will introduce students to the theatre, its parts and conventions. We’ll explore the process of creating a character, using a variety of exercises and acting games to build skills and let the student discover areas of interest. We’ll learn how to audition for and land a role, using proven techniques. Also discussed will be the business of acting and becoming a working actor, including the ‘trinity’ of headshot, resume and demo reel, securing agency representation and getting gigs. Wednesdays: 6:30pm to 8:00pm Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6 Fee: $69 Beginning Storytelling Instructor: Paul Boehlert Whether you are a speaker or teacher, want to preserve your family’s oral history or simply tell a rousing good tale to the grandkids, this course will show you how to craft and tell stories which enchant and instruct. Topics include Stories With Morals, Retrieving Old Memories, The Structure Of a Story, Telling A Funny One, and many others. Students will be encouraged and guided in the process of developing their own stories, and we’ll explore ways to put the magic in the tales we tell. Senior Watercolors Instructor: Amy Roepnack It’s never too late to discover your artistic talent. In this class, individuals will explore various techniques to create watercolor paintings in a wide variety of subject matters, such as, landscapes and flowers. This class will be a relaxed and creative way to discover your love for watercolor painting. Ages 55 and up. Fridays: 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sept. 13, 20, 27; Oct. 4 Fee: $49 Senior Watercolors 2 Instructor: Amy Roepnack Now that you have discovered your love of watercolors, let’s expand your talent and skills. This class is a continuation of the Senior Watercolors – Class1. It will explore various techniques to create watercolor paintings in a wide variety of subject matters, such as, cityscapes, animals, and figures. Ages 55 and up. Thursdays: 5:00pm to 7:00pm Oct. 17, 24; Nov. 7, 14 Fee: $49 Senior Sculpture Instructor: Amy Roepnack The class will allow you to explore art in a very fun and hands-on way. Future Fashionistas Instructor: Amy Roepnack Design clothing and accessories all your own. The projects will include skirts, headbands, purses, jewelry, and much more. Business Etiquette Workshop Instructor: Roe Polczynski Do you feel awkward in business situations? Are you having trouble in your job search? Have you walked away from a business meeting wondering where it all went wrong? Most people are unaware of how they are perceived. This workshop is designed to help you learn the successful way to present yourself and interact with others. These vital skills are not generally taught anywhere else.
