I know how much time and effort families have put into supporting each of our graduates, and I enjoy watching the joy and excitement as we celebrate this important accomplishment. As a school district, one of our primary goals is to ensure our students graduate with the ability to follow their hopes and dreams. Whether these dreams include entering the work force, joining the military, attending a two or four-year college, or pursuing additional training or a technical school is up to the individual student and his or her family. However, our collective responsibility as a school system is to ensure our graduates have as many options available to them as possible, so that they can make choices which align with their individual plans and goals. July 1 marked my one-year anniversary as superintendent of Cheney Public Schools. During this year I have had the chance to get to know our communities, families and school system. I feel so very fortunate to have the opportunity to lead our schools as we have phenomenal community support, wonderful employees who work hard and truly care about children, and outstanding students and families. As we prepare for the start of the 2017-2018 school year, my commitment to each of you is that we will build upon our current successes and continue to analyze our individual and collective practices in order to make Cheney Public Schools the best school system possible. I am looking forward to the start of another school year (on August 30) and the oppor- tunity to continue to prepare all students for success and ultimately graduation. Until then, my hope is that every student and family has a restful and fun summer! As al- ways, if you have any questions about any aspect of our school system, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or at 509-559-4502. Our essential foundations

High Expectations and Continuous Progress

Involvement and Engagement with School District Community

Stewardship and Planning

Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

Attending graduation ceremonies is one of my favorite aspects of being a superinten-dent.

I am looking forward to the start of another school year (on August 30) and the oppor-tunity to continue to prepare all students for success and ultimately graduation. Until then, my hope is that every student and family has a restful and fun summer! As al-ways, if you have any questions about any aspect of our school system, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or at 509-559-4502. Three Springs graduation

First to graduate in the district were Three Springs High School seniors. We could not be prouder, and now they are off to their next adventure!

New faces in the district this fall

CHS graduation night at EWU

Commencement for Cheney High School graduates took place at Eastern Washington University. The stands were packed with families and friends who celebrated their ac-complishments. One of the very meaningful moments hap-pened when all former graduates from Cheney High were asked to stand. There were so many who came before!

Capstone student graduates

Cheney High School Capstone students graduated on June 6 in a ceremony very well attended by friends and families. What a celebration! Congratulations to these wonderful young people on their accomplishment!
