Our proven solutions allow us to link devices from different manufacturers or to integrate them in the latest IoT systems. Thus, not only new projects can be implemented according to the latest standards, but also old equipment can be made fit for the future! „

Digital EnergySeamless data communication across all system levels with all devices is the backbone of the smart grid. Therefore, for the rapid realization of smart grid applications, the fast digitization of existing power plants and substations is elementary.

Ixxat SG-gateways enable the transparent connection of control rooms, cloud systems, local controllers, IEDs and sensors. Besides the use in new systems, they are also ideally suited for upgrading existing plants due to their small size and robust design. Existing components can thus interact seamlessly with new “digital” components.

The integration of classic IEDs with serial communication into modern systems with “digital” IEDs – communicating via Ethernet and IED 61850 – can be easily realized with the SG-gateway. In addition, a wide variety of IED independent sensors can be connected to the SG-gateway. Data from IEDs and sensors are pre-processed by the SG-gateway or

forwarded directly to the control room to obtain comprehen-sive and up-to-date information of the system – ultimately up to the “digital twin” of the plant.

Thanks to the secure transmission of data to cloud systems, continuous and independent monitoring of components or the entire system are achieved. This also allows remote access and predictive maintenance without additional com-ponents.

The Ixxat SG-gateway can thus replace several gateways and controllers. This simplifies installation and maintenance and increases reliability and data security.
