Commissioner Bovo presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Daylin Garcia (right)for her hard work and dedication with the Bob Graham Educational Center PTA. TheCommissioner also presented Patricia Berdeal a Certificate of Congratulations onbeing awarded Teacher of the Year at Immaculate Conception School.Congratulations to both on well deserved awards!
Unveiling of the Jose F. Caragol, Jr. Emergency Operations Center
Commissioner Bovo along with Mayor Carlos Hernandez, Governor Rick Scott, andthe Hialeah City Council attended the Hialeah EOC Grand Opening this month. Justin time for Hurricane Season, Hialeah will have its very own EOC to assist residentsbefore, during, and after a catastrophe.

Working for You: Transit Department
Commissioner Bovo as part of his "Working for You" series spent a day working as aMiami-Dade Transit employee. The Commissioner visited the Central MetroBus andMetroRail Maintenance and Dispatch Facilities. The experiences from the work daywill assist the Commissioner as Chair of the Transit Committee to better improve ourtransit system.
Greater Miami Goals Conference 2015
Commissioner Bovo as Chairman of the Transit and Mobility Services Committeeparticipated in the Chambers transit conference. The Commissioner spoke about theneed to extend rail lines to the western portions of our county. He also spoke aboutthe need to identify creative funding solutions such as allowing the Tourist Bed Taxto pay for capital infrastructure projects.

Commissioner Bovo met with Mayor Tomas Regalado to discuss the future of transitin Miami-Dade County. The Commissioner presented his plan to expand an east-west commuter rail line from the Miami Intermodal Center to approximately SW 137Avenue along SR 836.
Youth Fellow Program Future of Transit
Commissioner Bovo participated in a Youth Fellows Program where he presentedhis plan of extending rail lines to the western portions of our county to address theever growing traffic gridlock.
2015 Liga Contra El Cancer Telemarathon
Commissioners Bovo and Sosa attended the 2015 Liga Contra El CancerTelemarathon to present a check on behalf of Miami-Dade County residents in the

amount of $110,205.00. Those monies will be used towards the research andtreatment of cancer patients all over Miami-Dade County.
Family Fun Days at The Park
Commissioner Bovo sponsored Family Fun Days at the Park at Country Club Lakeof Miami South park and at Country Lake Park where County services and localvendors participated. In addition Miami-Dade Animal Services hosted a pet adoptionevent where local resident could adopt dogs and cats. This is part of theCommissioner dedication to promote pet adoptions throughout District 13.
