BEER CHILLING FOR MF REFRIGERATION

Every year, MF Refrigeration manufactures over 15,000 coolers for customers around the world, specialising in systems for delivering ice-cold drinks in bars and outdoor festivals.

In a drive to save energy, we recommended a range of EC motors from Kulthorn, an innovative Asian producer with a manufacturing facility in Vietnam.

The ATEX-approved motors provide energy-efficient cooling and offer compatibility with hydrocarbon refrigerants.

The motors can also be used as an agitator to keep liquids moving and avoid freezing.

HITACHI DELIVERS SAVINGS FOR WAITROSE

Waitrose is a major supermarket retailer with over 350 locations in the UK – and Hawco have been supplying Hitachi scroll compressors for its integral refrigeration units for over a decade.

It was Carter Retail Equipment who were asked to develop the first display cases for Waitrose using Hitachi technology. We worked with their R&D team and advised them on their test program. We also assisted them in adopting R1270 (Propylene) as a hydrocarbon refrigerant for use in the scroll compressor.

Carter has since developed four generations of these cases for Waitrose, in both air-cooled and water loop versions, with the low profile of the compressor allowing additional display space to be created. With improved energy-efficiency and the use of water loop systems, Waitrose is saving an estimated £65,000 per store each year in operating costs.

We are currently working with a number of Waitrose case manufacturers to introduce Inverter technology into the next generation of their display cases in 2019, which will achieve even greater energy savings.

LAE CONTROLLERS FOR H&K INTERNATIONAL

Some of the largest operators of fast food restaurants in the world rely on catering equipment provided by H&K International, including McDonalds, Subway, KFC and Burger King.

Hawco have worked with the UK manufacturer for more than 20 years and we supply thousands of digital controllers annually from LAE Electronic to their global production facilities for integration into chillers, freezers and warming plates.

With such an international customer base, H&K International need components that will be versatile enough for different markets. We helped their design team develop a single global controller that has been designed to work with multiple voltages, temperature probes and SSR drivers and which can be used for both refrigeration and heating applications.

SUPPLY CHAIN PARTNERSHIP WITH HOSHIZAKI

For the past five years, Hawco has supplied Hoshizaki with Embraco reciprocating compressors as part of their range of robust ice machines.

The Japanese company places great importance on product reliability, durability, energy efficiency and a continual move towards greener technology. We ensured that Embraco’s compressors would perform under the incredibly demanding conditions required for an ice machine, working closely with Hoshizaki’s design team through a rigorous test program, with design application support offered by Embraco in Slovakia.

We also maintain an uninterrupted supply of compressors by holding a dedicated stock in our UK warehouse to meet changing production demands.
