Clean Start is a social enterprise initiative of Stella’s Circle, which is a leading non-profit community organization in St. John’s, NL. Our mission is to transform lives by offering Real Homes, Real Help, and Real Work.

We provide various housing, counselling, and employment programs to people who face many barriers to fully participating in their community. These barriers can include mental health issues, addictions, homelessness, poverty, criminal justice involvement, low literacy, and unemployment.

Stella’s Circle operates several social enterprises, which employ participants. The Hungry Heart Café, our signature social enterprise, is a socially responsible neighbourhood café and catering business at historic Rawlins Cross.

THE BEST SOCIAL PROGRAM IS A JOB

Participants who face barriers in their community will receive complete on-the-job training with a team leader from the organization. Clean Start trainees work alongside professional cleaners with more than 35 years combined experience.

Clean Start has several long standing contracts with Perfect Day, Bluedrop, Dick’s and Company Basics, Thrive, and several local churches. Employers can improve the local community by giving individuals a hand up, not a hand out, while having their business cleaned professionally, on time, and at a competitive price.

If participants cannot make their shift, the job is completed by Stella’s Circle staff. When hiring us, the job will be done!
