Monitoring of temperature, humidity, atm. pressure and CO
2 via Ethernet
These days there is a high demand for on-line monitoring and uninterruptable records of different type of values. With very fast development of computer technologies, it is still easier and easier to con-nect different kind of monitoring devices directly to Ethernet lines, to the places where it was not possible before. If the Ethernet net has direct connection to the internet, then all data could be sent immediately around the world without the need for any additional costs. This high requirements could be done easily by Web Sensors and sensors with Ethernet output which can ensure long term reliability, stable parameters and very easy installation and usage. The devices can be protected against blackouts and data loss at the customer’s site. Of course PoE supply is an option. Continuous monitoring of critical parameters such as temperature and relative humidity can be very easily done by the help of Web Sensors. This production line consists of sensors for measuring temperature, relative humidity, CO2 concentration, atmospheric pressure, and the 4-20mA signal. Most sensors are equipped with an LCD display and can be easily incorporated into the existing network infrastructure. The Web Sensors evaluate the measured values and in case of exceeding the alarm limits, the unit will send an email to a pre-set address, so this ensures that you are always informed of the conditions in your offices, server rooms, warehouses and factories, and everywhere where is necessary to monitor the supported values .By connecting directly to a computer network the thermometer or humidity meter can be integrated into the control systems of different manufacturers using SNMP, MODBUS TCP, SOAP, syslog. Of course data in many formats is also available, for example XML and so on.
TemperatureTemperature is measured by RTD sensor Pt1000/3850 ppm which can be integrated into the housing of transducer, into the duck stem or can be used on the cable as well. The measu-red temperature can be displayed in °C or °F, according to the settings of the sensor.
State-of-the-art capacitive polymer sensor ensures excellent long term calibration stabilityand inertia against water and condensation. Transmitters are available in wall-mount, duct mount.
Relative humidity
Transmitter for measuring of barometric pressure is equipped with an absolute pressure sensor of high accuracy which ensures excellent long term stability. The display reading and pressure output is user selectable in these units: hPa, kPa, mbar, mmHg, inHg, inH2O, PSI, oz/in2.
Barometric pressure
A multiple point CO2 and temperature adjustment procedure leads to excellent CO2 measurement accuracy over the entire temperature working range; this is a must for process control and outdoor applications. The dual wavelength NDIR CO2 sensing procedu-re compensates automatically for ageing effects. The CO2 module is highly insensitive to pollution and offers maintenance free operation and outstanding long term stability.

Current - mATransfer of current loops 0-20 mA (4-20 mA) to the Ethernet network. Ethernet network reduces installation costs and accelerates deployment.
Binary inputsSelected devices feature up to three binary inputs for connecting smoke detectors, floo-dings, breaking glass, door contacts, etc. A voltage-free contact, open collector or two-state voltage signal can be connected.

Monitoring of areas and places for storage of drugs at temperatures down to - 200 °C.
Monitoring of storage conditions and production processes in the temperature range from - 200 °C to + 600 °C.
Monitoring of critical variables in relation to HACCP regulations with the possibility of immediate alert to unforeseen events that could lead to the devaluation of goods.
Monitoring of conditions in the data centers and in 19” racks, including detection of the state of flooding, opening / closing doors (windows), movement and smoke, etc.
WWW serverActual measured values are accessible via powerful embedded web server. Web pages are ready for access from mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. Device configuration via web pages is possible too. Web Sensors allow to user customize the design of web pages.History values memoryGraphs with history values are accessible via web pages. Modern HTML5 canvas graphic component allows to use graphs from thousands of devices. It is not a problem to show graphs on tablets or smartphones. All modern web browsers are supported - Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Internet Explorer 9.EmailWarning emails are sent when measured value exceed selected limits. Emails are also sent when values return back into safe range. SMTP authentication is supported, but SSL not. Emails with CSV file attachment can be sent at selected intervals.History export to CSVHistory values can be exported for further processing by the CSV file. CSV file can be processed inside spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice Calc. CSV file can be downloaded from web pages or periodically sent as email attachment.
ModbusTCP protocolModbus protocol for communication with SCADA systems or third party software. Devices use Modbus TCP protocol version. Two Modbus clients can be connected to the device at one moment. Actual values via XMLXML protocol for actual measured values reading. This protocol is suitable for Web Sensors integration into 3rd party SCADA systems.
SNMP protocolSNMP version 1 protocol for IT infrastructure. Using SNMP protocol you can read actual measured values, alarm sta-tuses and alarm parameters. Via SNMP protocol is also possible to get last 1000 measured values from the history table. MIB tables with OID description are available.
SNMP TrapSNMP Trap for IT infrastructure. Web Sensors allow sending Traps to selected Trap receiver server. Traps are sent in case of alarm on channel or at error states like unable to send email, unable to deliver SOAP message, etc.
SOAP protocolWeb Sensors allow to send currently measured values via SOAP v1.1 protocol. The device sends values in XML format to the web server. The advantage of this protocol is that communication is initialized by the device side. Therefore it is not necessary to use port forwarding.
Syslog protocolSyslog protocol for IT infrastructure monitoring systems. Web Sensors allow sending text messages to selected Syslog server. Messages are sent in case of alarm on channel or at error states like unable to send email, unable to deliver SOAP message, etc.
SNTP protocol - time synchronizationTime synchronisation with SNTP server. Actual time is shown at web pages and is necessary for timestamps inside CSV files. Synchronisation interval can be set to one day or to one hour.
Web Sensors with Ethernet connection are designed to measure current 4 - 20mA (0-20mA), tempe-rature, relative humidity, CO2 and barometric pressure of air in non-aggressive environments. Measu-red values are according to device type. Devices with relative humidity measurement can show one of computed values: dew point temperature, absolute humidity, specific humidity, mixing ratio and specific enthalpy. Temperature units are °C or °F.
The visual indication of the CO2 concentration is provided by three-colour LED.
Web Sensor of T-line is equipped with LCD display where current values can be displayed.
The device setup can be made by the TSensor software or web interface. TSensor software can be downloaded for free from the manufacturer’s website.
The latest version of firmware for your device with new features and even for older devices is available on the producer′s site www.cometsystem.cz/support/firmware-update.

Releay outputsTwo relay output for alarming or external device control. It is possible to assign any input value to each relay. Relay can be remotely controlled using ModbusTCP communication protocol.
Binary inputsIt is possible to read three binary inputs statuses for detection of two-state events - e.g. smoke, water leak detectors, door contact. Supported binary inputs: dry contact, open collector or two-state voltage signal.
Acoustic alarmsAcoustic signalisation can be activated after exceeding set limits. Alarm can be confirmed (deactivated) from the device keyboard.
WWW serverCurrent values are available via embedded web server. Design of the web pages can be changed according to user requirements.
EmailWarning emails are sent when measured value exceed selected limits. SMTP authentication is supported, but SSL not.
History export to CSVHistory values can be exported for next processing by the CSV file. CSV file can be processed inside spreadsheet ap-plication like Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice Calc.
ModbusTCP protocolModbus protocol for communication with SCADA systems or third party software. Device use version of Modbus TCP protocol.
SNMP protocolSNMP version 1 protocol for IT infrastructure. Using SNMP protocol you can read actual measured values, alarm statuses and alarm parameters. MIB tables with OID description are available.
SNMP TrapSNMP Trap for IT infrastructure. The device allows sending Traps to selected Trap receiver server. Traps are sent in case of alarm on channel or at error states.
SOAP protocolThe device allows to send currently measured values via SOAP v1.1 protocol. The device sends values in XML format to the web server. The advantage of this protocol is that communication is initialized by the device side. Therefore it is not necessary to use port forwarding.Syslog protocolSyslog protocol for IT infrastructure monitoring systems. The device allows sending text messages to selected Syslog server. Messages are sent in case of alarm on channel or at error states.
SNTP protocol - time synchronizationTime synchronisation with SNTP server. Actual time is shown at web pages and is necessary for timestamps inside CSV files.
Programmable regulators with Ethernet connection are designed to measure temperature and relative hu-midity of air, to measure concentration of CO2 in the air, to signal alarms and control external devices. Re-gulators can be used in a chemically non-aggressive environment. Measured values are according to device type. Devices with relative humidity measurement can show one of computed values: dew point temperature, absolute humidity, specific humidity, mixing ratio and specific enthalpy. Temperature units are °C or °F. The CO2 concentration is measured using the maintenance free sensor. The unique patented auto-calibration procedure compensates ageing of the measuring element and guarantees outstanding high reliability and long-term stability. The sensors are equipped with two relay outputs for alarm indication or control of external devices. Each relay can be assigned to any input value, set up the comparing limit, delay, hysteresis and audible alarm. As an option you can remotely change its status via Modbus communication protocol. Sensors are also equipped with three binary inputs for detection of two-state signals, e.g. flood detection, smoke detection, door con-tacts and so on.
The device can be used to check measured values. In case of going over the limits set up by the user it can send a warning message to the user’s chosen destination.
The device is internally divided into two blocks, the first one takes care of measuring and output relays. It is possible to set up these parameters directly from the keyboard or from the free to download program TSen-sor. This software can be downloaded from www.cometsystem.cz The second block will ensure all Ethernet services. Its configuration can be done by the help of TELNET software or from the free to download program TSensor. Warning, this set up cannot be changed by the device’s own keyboard.

PP90 – Right-angled stainless steelflange.
PP4 – plastic flat circular flange
SP004 - Plastic gland for directmounting of the humidity probeto a 29 mm diameter hole.
The probe for measuring the moisture of compressed air should be pla-ced directly on the pressure pipelines to achieve higher measurement accuracy and faster response times. But there are cases where such placement is not possible. The reason is the high air speed, high tempe-rature, high pollution, small diameter pipes, etc. Such situation can be solved by placing the probe into the flow measuring chamber.

Recorded values are stored to a non volatile electronic memory and may be supplemented by the accompanying text - pro-cesses. Various options for data recording can be set up.
Application
Recording
Various options for data recordingIn addition to continuous recording mode with a constant interval can also enjoy a variety of other options. You can record data with its own interval only when certain conditions are valid, which may depend on measured values , time or direct user intervention. For example, you can control recording via an external contact or it is possible to set faster sampling mode during alarm conditions.
ProcessesProcess is the name of action recorded by data logger in time. User of data logger can enter from its keyboard to each input channel (except bi-nary inputs) different previously preset names of processes and such way to distinguish in record, which action was performed at that time.
In case of power failure In the event of a power failure, the backed up datalogger will continue to measure. Recorded data contains date and time of power failure. If the data logger is connected to GSM modem, the operator is immediately aware of difficulties.
Measuring and recording system MS has been developed to meet all require-ments for the possibility of alarming. Each of the 16 channels offers setting of hysteresis, a delay and up to four conditions to active alarm. Alarm can be pre-sented as sound (buzzer) and as visual signal (LED 1-32). For each alarm you can assign actions to be performed.
Communication through GSM modem, GPRS / EDGE routerModems can be used to set up a monitoring system MS, reading the recorded data, reading the current values and to communicate via SMS messages. The offered modems have been thoroughly tested to ensure maximum reliability.
Alerts via:
» Integrated buzzer» External siren or lights» Email messages» SMS texts via connected GPRS modem or router» Telephone dialer
Alerts via SMS textsAll data loggers are equipped with RS232 interface. GSM modem (GPRS router)can be connected to that port for transmitting alarm SMS texts. Up to four phone numbers can be set. Using text messages can also read the current values .

Monitoring system MS may be configured for almost any desired measurement application. Sensors can be wired to datalogger in star-like connection as well as in serial. Combination of both is also possible. The monitoring system MS is characterized by a wide range of communication interfaces such as the RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet and GSM or GPRS modem. Thanks to Wi-Fi routers several measuring systems MS can be wirelessly connected to a network.
Common connectivity options
In the event that the number of 16 channels is insufficient, then it is possible to connect several units among themselves via RS485 or via the Ethernet network. A unique RS485 or IP address is assigned to each unit. However the distance between data loggers MS connected together via RS485 should not exceed 1200 meters.
» maximum length of the entire cabling is 1200m and maximum 32 data loggers can be connected» maximum communication speed of 115200Bd (download of full memory in 4min 30s)» communication takes place through the software for data logger
» download of memory in 2min 30s (depends on the network throughput)» communication and sending alarm messages by means of several network protocols is enabled (web, SNMP, SMTP, SysLog, SOAP, ModBus) » each data logger has its IP address (support DHCP)

Optional accessories for monitoring system MS
Router is intended for MS6D, MS6R, MS6-Rack and MS55D which are equipped with an Ethernet interface MP042. Using GPRS / EDGE router can be recommended as a reliable, fast and low operating cost solution compared to using a dial-up connection with a modem GSM-KIT-M.
IP address of router is assigned by your mobile provider and it is related to your SIM card. Address may be private, public dynamic or public static. IP addres is public if router is accessed by it directly from internet. Static IP is fixed allocated to SIM by provider. Dynamic IP address is acquired from provider during connection of router to the GPRS/EDGE network. Dynamic IP is variabled. No everyone provider supports public IP! Open VPN tunnel with a private IP address can be used. This router allows using of SMS messages for one MS monitoring system.
Software Comet Database offers more tools for data management and alerts.
KIT-GSM-M
For data transmission from the data logger MS to Computer must be used two modems. One on the side of logger and second on side of PC. In comparison with the GPRS / EDGE router data transfer is slower. This modem is suitable for users who need to acquire alarm SMS texts from one monitoring system MS. Up to four phone numbers can be set up.
KIT-GSM-W
The hardware of this kit is identical to KIT-GSM-M. However it is preconfigured for use with the software Comet Database. When you connect modem with PC where Comet Database is installed you get a tool for 24-hour surveillance of critical events via SMS texts (see picture above). Unlimited phone numbers can be set up.

Applications
Building management needs quality and reliable components. Our instruments which measure temperature, humidity, atmo-spheric pressure and CO2 are an integral part of these industry-leading solutions. Industry is distinguished by its capital demands. The competition across the market is still growing and creates additional pre-ssure on the prices. Our company has a good understanding of this situation and thus provides very reliable and precise products for a very competitive price. Meteorology is the science of the atmosphere, whose knowledge is essential in many fields of human activity. For example, transportation, agriculture and the military need sensitive, accurate devices with a large dynamic range, which are very stable over time. COMET sensors meet these requirements. Our sensors along with a radiation shield may form the basis for a long-term weather station for monitoring climate and air quality.
In the food industry, environments, supermarkets and wherever there is a need to monitor critical variables in relation to HACCP regulations, COMET sensors and transducers may be used. Along with other COMET products such monitoring systems MS6 and MS55D, it is possible to create a comprehensive system for collecting, recording, analyzing and alerting.
Healthcare and laboratories are characterized by sterile environments. COMET sensors can serve well even in these demanding and wide range of applications focusing on monitoring temperature, CO2 and other critical parameters in the context of GLP and GMP regulations.
TemperatureTemperature is measured by RTD sensor Pt1000/3850 ppm. Probes P1000 of different lengths and types can be connected to transducers. The measured temperature can be displayed in °C or °F, according to the settings of the sensor.
State-of-the-art capacitive polymer sensor ensures excellent long term calibration stabilityand inertia against water and condensation. Transmitters are available in wall-mount, ductmount. They are also available in modification for measuring into the pressure up to 25 bars.
Relative humidity
Measured values are also converted to other humidity interpretation - dew point tempera-ture, absolute humidity, specific humidity, mixing ratio or specific enthalpy.
Computed values
Transmitter for measuring of barometric pressure is equipped with an absolute pressure sensor of high accuracy which ensures excellent long term stability. The display reading and pressure output is user selectable in these units: hPa, kPa, mbar, mmHg, inHg, inH2O, PSI, oz/in2.
Barometric pressure
Carbon dioxide level - CO2
A multiple point CO2 and temperature adjustment procedure leads to excellent CO2 mea-surement accuracy over the entire temperature working range; this is a must for process control and outdoor applications. The dual wavelength NDIR CO2 sensing procedure com-pensates automatically for ageing effects. The CO2 module is highly resistant to pollution and offers maintenance free operation and outstanding long term stability.
Measured values
Binary inputsSelected devices feature up to three binary inputs for connecting smoke detectors, floodings, breaking glass, door contacts, etc. A voltage-free contact, open collector or two-state voltage signal can be connected.

Sensors and regulators of temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and CO2 concentration convert measured values to digital serial output the RS485 and RS232 link parameters. These devices support communication protocols Modbus RTU and protocol compatible with standard Advantech-ADAM. By means of this communictaion via serial line the measured values can be read and some settings changed. Parameters can be set from the regulator´s keypad or from a computer.
Computerized design ensures maximum long term stability, user adjustment and fail indication. This concept allows the user to choose measuring range for each output. Moreover, there is an option to set up computed values such as dew point, absolute humidity, specific humidity, mixing ratio and specific enthalpy. State-of-the-art capacitive polymer sensor ensures excellent long term calibration stability and inertia against water and condensation. Devices are designed for measurement of air without aggressive ingredients.

Programmable industry regulators
Regulators are designed for two-state control of e.g. heating, ventilation, humidifier, dehumidifier, etc. They are equipped with two relay outputs for alarm indication or control of external devices. Each relay can be assigned to any measured or computed value and comparing limit, delay, hysteresis and audible alarm can be set up.
Regulators are made with the power relay output 250VAC/8A, or with relay output 50V/2A. Devices with low voltage relays can be equipped with a serial output RS485 or RS232. These regulators are equipped with three binary inputs for detection of two-state events - e.g. water, smoke, glass break detection, door contact.

HProgrammable regulators with relay outputs are designed to measure temperature, relative humidity and CO2 concentration in chemical non--aggressive environment. Used for alarms signalization and control of external devices. The devices are available in wall and duct mounting models or with a cable probe. Programmable regulators with outputs to power relays are powered by AC 110V to 240V. The advantage is the possibility of direct control of external power circuits.
Normally open contact of relay - when alarm condition is true, contact is closed Normally closed contact of relay - when alarm condition is true, contact is open
Two output relays can be set from the keypad or from a computer.

HProgrammable industry regulators
Regulators with two-state inputs, with relay output and serial output RS485/RS232
The regulators are designed for online monitoring of tempera-ture in °C or °F, relative humidity of air without aggressive sub-stances, atmospheric pressure, CO2 and three binary inputs for detection of two values.
Measured temperature and relative humidity can be recalculated to other humidity interpretation like dew point, absolute humidi-ty, specific humidity, mixing ratio and specific enthalpy. You can set the altitude correction (offset) and choose the pressure unit: hPa, kPa, mbar, mmHg, inHg, inH2O, PSI, oz/in2.
The regulators is in a durable plastic case with connection ter-minals and sensors of temperature and humidity in the cover with a stainless steel mesh filter. The CO2 sensor can be installed inside the device or in the cable probe.
Transmitter circuitry is galvanically isolated from power circuitry to prevent collision in RS485 network.
Serial output RS232 is not galvanically isolated.
The transmitter works with ModBus RTU communication protocol or with Advantech ADAM compatible protocol. Protocol is user selectable. Serial link enables to read actual readings and modify transmitter configuration. In-strument works always in slave mode, i.e. responds only to master device query.

Connection of external power relay
Relay - the device is equipped with two relay outputs for alarming or controlling of external devices. It is possible to assign any input value to each relay, to set comparing limit, delay, hysteresis, acous-tic alarm or change its status by means of Modbus communication protocol.
Coil data chart of external power relay: nominal voltage : max. 50V nominal power: max. 60VA current: max. 2A
Keypad - two output relays can be configurated by means of keypad. Then any input value can be assigned, set comparing limits, hysteresis, delay or audible alarm.
Acoustic alarm – triggered alarm can be deacti-vated by pressing ”ESC”. This possibility can be disabled and the acoustic alarm is active for the duration alarm condition.
External powerrelay
Powersupply
Design - measuring elements can be integrated into the body of device or may be on the cable with lengths of up to four meters. External probe may be designed for pressure of 25 bar.
Three binary inputs – these inputs are not gal-vanic isolated, connection terminals +U are inter-nally connected to the device power supply i.e. the +U terminals provide the same voltage level as power supply.

Terminal for power and signal RS485/RS232 – for more details please see electrical wiring of sensors
page 13.
Transmitter circuitry is galvanically isolated from power circuitry to pre-vent collision in RS485 network.
Serial output RS232 is not galvanica-lly isolated.
The transmitter works with ModBus RTU communication protocol or with Advantech ADAM compatible proto-col. Protocol is user selectable. Serial link enables to read actual readings and modify transmitter configurati-on. Instrument works always in slave mode, i.e. responds only to master device query.
