Beginner Knitting! Whether you are just starting or refreshing your skills, this class is for you! Learn all of the knitting basics. Cast on, knit and purl
stitch, cable, basic button hole and bind off to name a few. At the end you will have a fantastic project that will launch your skills
into your next creation! There will be five 2-hour classes.

Beginner Crochet! Our first class was a success with many beautiful color combinations! Now it is your turn. Whether you are refreshing

Workshops & Other Classes! Beginner Drop Spindle! Create your own yarn using a drop spindle! We will learn the fundamentals of spinning
fiber to make skeins of yarn. The drop spindle is so easy to bring with you wherever you go!
Add this to your repertoire of fiber art! Materials, including a drop spindle, are included.

Mystery Stitch of the Month! Can you solve the mystery? Come to one or come to all! Learn one new unique stitch a month
as you explore the world of knit and purl and how they can be manipulated to excite
you. Future pattern support will be offered for current stitch. Bring a coffee and you’re
“A” game and experience a different PurL teacher every time…yay!

Increases and Decreases Workshop! Every knitter should know a variety of increases and decreases and when to use them
in order to shape their knitting with ease. Enjoy a hands-on knitting workshop
learning how to work these stitches in pattern and read their proper directions.

Bead Workshop! Add sparkle and shine to your knitting with beads. Exploring multiple techniques,

Stranding Workshop! Are you enamored with Norwegian color work? Have you tried to knit fair isle, only
to be frustrated with puckering and loose floats? This workshop is for you. Using the
Templetop Cowl pattern you’ll follow a color chart, 2 hand strand (yippee!), learn to
“trap” wool and be ready to tackle the most intricate colorwork patterns.

Short Rows Workshop! Get comfortable working Wrap & Turn and German Short Rows. Practice while creating
beautiful felted Lizard Ridge Coasters. This class is a useful for learning about sweater
shaping, shawls, socks and more.

Sirle Hat! Sirle is a feminine slouchy hat that features lace and garter pairings to create a stunning

Rowan Lace Mitts! These are perfect little spring mitts. Lacey and sweet and quick to knit. Learn
chart reading, increasing, decreasing, and creating a beautiful thumb gusset.
Great opportunity to get comfortable with double pointed needles or flexi flips.

Circular Knitting Workshop! Are you tired of knitting back and forth on scarves? Then this is the workshop for you.
In this 3-hour class you will learn how to knit in the round using circular needles. We will
show you several methods of joining in the round, keeping track of your rounds, identifying
your stitches in the round, and how to bind off. You'll go home having started on a colorful
cowl, the perfect project for exploring circular knitting.

Tuck Stitch Workshop! This beauty celebrates the tuck stitch family. Have you ever met a Tuck Stitch?
This is the parent of the brioche stitch. Learn about how they are made and paired
together to create gorgeous textured fabrics that will make you drool. Pair and play
with your favorite colors while mastering yarnovers, burps, barks and perhaps a Latvian
braid if you are up for the challenge.

Orla’s Vine! A truly unique cowl, this stitch pattern looks like embroidery, but is actually a cleverly
constructed confection created with 3 color stranding colorwork, cables and slipped
stitches. A lot of learning in this beauty and the color combinations are endless.

2 Color Brioche!
Using Purl Soho's “Brioche Hat and Cowl” you can achieve dramatic results. A little
“barking and burping”, a lot of brioche stitch anatomy come together in this class. Use
a chunky weight yarn for a perfect early Spring cowl, or try using a dk weight for a lighter
drapeable effect. Perfect way to get started before tackling more involved brioche projects.

First Asymmetrical Shawl! Asymmetrical shawls are fun and easy to wear. Start with a few stitches and increase every
other row and watch it grow. This shawl features, garter stitch, eyelets, and a beautiful lace
border which is a great introduction to lace knitting and chart reading. Pick two contrasting
colors or a solid color and a variegated yarn.

The Holland Sweater! This sweater was a huge hit during The Green Mountain Spinnery trunk show, and no wonder!
The A-line shape is comfortable and flattering. The sleeve detail and gored front add charm
while the short rows in the back add an extra bit of length. This is going to be a classic sweater
you put on again and again.

First Fingering Weight Sock! If you’ve been itching to try socks this is the class for you. The oft knit and well
loved Churchmouse sock gives you an opportunity to learn all the techniques you
need to start your sock knitting journey. Heel flap, short row heel turn, kitchener
stitch, and knit to fit. Choose one of the self-striping yarns for a fantastic looking
pair. Use DPNs or magic loop.

Flowered Lariat! Challenge yourself with this beautiful flowered lariat. This is a more advanced wet felting
class however if you are good with your hands, jump on in. You will be using superfine
merino to create the flowers and multi-strand vine using soap, water and elbow grease.
Choose your color palette and watch magic happen as you turn wool fibers into
wearable works of art.

Wet Felted Jewelry! Learn to felt beads out of soft wool fibers. Experience the magic that is wet felting as we use only soap and water to
turn superfine merino into felt beads and charms. We will then practice some surface
design techniques using thread and glass beads to decorate the felt pieces and assemble
them into jewelry. You will have a choice of fiber and many bead colors to play with. No
experience is necessary!

Natural Dyeing Workshop! Natural dyes create unique colors that are set apart. Learn the basics of natural dyeing using
materials the earth provides. Special for this season are flowers and items from nature. It is
an exciting creative process! You will choose from a few colors to dye a skein of wool that you
will take home.

How to Spin a Balanced Skein! Are you a beginner spinner that would like to get past skewed skeins and produce a nicely

Private Spinning Lessons! Private Lessons are available for beginner spinning and drop spindle. Master Spinner,
Connie Wieczorek, enjoys sharing what she has learned and will tailor the lessons to
