According to Wikipedia.com –

A goal is a desired result an animal or a system envisions, plans and commits to achieve a personal or organizational desired end-point in some sort of assumed development. Many people endeavor to

reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.

ClarityYou will have more clarity. You have to know where you want to go to get there. Setting

goals requires you to develop clarity. This is the first and most important step to creating a life

that you love and want.

FocusYou will develop a stronger focus. If you have clear goals and focus on them, you

will get more of what you DO want and less of what you don't want.

EfficiencyWhen you get clear about where you want to go, you set up steps and actions to get there. This increases your efficiency because you are

working on what is really important.

Page 18: Combined's Women's Forum - Goals 2012

So can we now agree that setting goals is important?

Page 19: Combined's Women's Forum - Goals 2012

The Hard Truth…• 23% of the population has no idea what they want

from life, and as a result, do not have much.• 67% of the population has a general idea of what

they want, but do not have plans for how to get it.• Only 10% of the population has specific, well-

defined goals, but even then, 7:10 reach their goals only half the time.

• The top 3% achieved their goals 89% of the time

The REALLY Hard Truth…

• Meaning that 90% of people have no ideas or concrete plans for what they want out of life.

Page 23: Combined's Women's Forum - Goals 2012

They don't realize about the importance of goals.

Page 24: Combined's Women's Forum - Goals 2012

They don't know how to set goals.

Page 25: Combined's Women's Forum - Goals 2012

They fear failure.

Page 26: Combined's Women's Forum - Goals 2012

“I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games.

26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.

I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

– Michael Jordan
