ch 7; join with a slip st in first ch to make a ring.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (5 dc, ch 2, 5 dc, ch 1, dc) in ring – you will have 12 dc, 2 ch-1 sps and a center ch-2 sp in this row. Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), tur n, dc in first ch-1 sp, dc in each dc to center ch-2 sp, (dc, ch 2, dc) in center ch-2 sp, dc in each dc to beg ch-sp, (dc, ch 1, dc) in beg ch-sp – 16 dc, 2 ch-1 sps and a center ch-2 sp (8 dc and 1 ch-1 sp on each side of center ch-2 sp).

Row 3 (Mesh Row): Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), tur n, dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, *ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * to center ch-2 sp, ch 1, (dc, ch 2, dc) in center ch-2 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, **ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next dc; rep from ** to beg ch-sp, ch 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in beg ch-sp – 14 dc, 12 ch-1 sps, and a center ch-2 sp (7 dc and 6 ch-1 sps on each side of center ch-2 sp).
