SUNDAY SCHOOL (2nd Hour) During the second hour each week, we have Sunday School for all ages. Pre-schoolers will meet in the preschool rooms. Grades 1-5 start in Solar City, break out into classrooms for lessons and activities, and then come back together for group games at the end. Our FaithWeaver Now curriculum allows all ages to learn the same story each week at their own level - that means the whole fami-ly can revisit what they learned together throughout the week. Make sure to grab a Family Connect paper each week from the check-in desk for ways to integrate each week’s lesson into life at home.

Tour

BRUCE & IRENE MCATEE, Hellenic Ministries, Greece Bruce, Irene, Grace and Emily are settling in to begin the next few years of ministering to the hurting in this tumultuous country. Af-ter a year of enjoying schooling and church with us at GCC, they are forming new friendships in Greece, a country which has be-

come a highway for those trying to escape the Islamic societies of the Middle East. The goals of most of these immigrants are to settle in either Western Europe or North America, but many of them get stuck in Greece. To these im-migrants, the Hellenic Ministries helps expectant mothers, provides meals, transportation, showers, medical care. Ample opportunities for evangelism and discipleship emerge in these relationships. Bible studies are going on and bap-tisms are taking place. (a big and often dangerous action for those of Muslim background). Operation Joshua, distributing thousands of new testaments. is going well. Prayer is needed for another 200,000 Euros to make the final pay-ment for the New Testaments. Also pray for the family as they continue to reintegrate into Greek society.

PRAYER REQUESTS, PRAISES & ANSWERS: Please note your prayer requests on today’s response card. Also, remember to tell us how God answers. † Nancy Goodwin asks for prayers for her grandson Mark. He

recently had a colonoscopy to prepare for surgery on his colon and a spot was discovered. Pray for good results from the biopsy that was done and for Mark to be drawn closer to God.

† Bruce & Karen Bryant ask for prayers for their daughter Sarah. † Don & Anita Wescott’s daughter, Becky, is still in ICU recovering

from a second surgery to fix a blood clot in her leg. Please pray for complete healing.

† Art Tapy - I would like to thank each one of you for your prayers, cards, and visits. They have meant a lot to me and have helped me through a difficult time. I am feeling a lot better and have made progress in my recovery. I am getting good reports from the rehab people in the use of my cane and walker.

† Please continue to pray for our missionary, Bill Bathman and his wife, Harriett. From their latest newsletter on Bill’s condition: “His diagnosis is the same as we shared last month; his condition: weakness but no pain and ease in breathing assisted by the flow of oxygen form His O2 concentrator. Reminds us of the old song, ‘Don’t get around much any more’. Bill is still Chairman of the Board of FRONTLINE FELLOWSHIP and works from his computer several mornings a week.”

† Please continue to pray for our fall ministries: Adult Bible Studies, Financial Peace, MOPS, MOMSnext, MOPPETS, Parent University, Awana, Life Chain, Men’s Reboot, Martha Fellowship Mission Luncheon, Girls’ Night Out and many others. Pray God will use these ministries and events to reach in to our church family with spiritual growth, and reach out to the community with His love.

† Pray for our missionary families as they serve here and abroad bringing God’s word to a needy world. Some are in need of additional support, especially the Irwins and McKees, as they build their support teams.

† Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance in the upcoming elections. † Praise for God’s blessings at our daughter church, Stonebridge.

The church is healthy and lives are being changed. † Mark & Marjorie Schoonover - Marjorie has been experiencing

low white blood counts, low red blood counts, and low platelets, etc. She will be having a bone marrow test done Monday morning and hear the result on October 5.

† Ongoing prayers for long term health battles: Ellen Crahen, Harry Yeakey, Joyce Bowman, Art Kiehne, Roger Rodg-ers, Leon Arnold, Sheri Libby, Chelle Bell, John Wagner, Bob Shields, Bill Bathman, Mackenzie & Cyndi Tomazi, and Pat Van Housen. Also remember our troops and first responders serving at home and around the world.
