International Colloquium in Kyoto As a result of rapid population aging, Southeast Asia is currently facing a serious social issue of caring for the elderly. In Thailand, the social welfare system for elderly care is not well-prepared to the rapid increase of care needs. This colloquium will create a space to exchange the ideas and experiences of researchers who have been studying aging from the perspectives of both “care prevention” and “care” in the community, and explore the possibilities to address these issues with a focus on local characteristics of each place.
