CSHS SPEECH AND DEBATE

College Station High School had a great fall semester, performing exceptionally well at the C H Yoe High School tournament, and the Belton Invitational Literary Tournament. Impressive placing include 1st place finishes at Belton for Julie Potrykus and Brianna Aguilar in Extemporaneous Persuasive and Informative Speaking, respectively. Danna Bader also took home the High Point Speaker Award at Belton. Our first ever Congressional Debate team also competed this fall at the District contest. Our next big competition is January 31st, which is the District competition for Cross Examination Debate at A&M Consolidated where we will be taking three teams: Sebastian De Beurs & Rohit Madhav, Collin Littlefield & Mason Klemm, and Danna Bader & Ariel Simien. The top two teams will advance to State, so best of luck!!

Your student has the opportunity to attend the 2016 summer break trip to Europe with College Station High School! Global awareness is more essential than ever before, and the best way for our children to become globally aware is by traveling abroad. Experiencing new cultures not only opens students’ eyes to the world, it also prepares them for the future. It is one way to truly bring your student’s classroom to life, offer them a better understanding of the world, and enable them to build self-confidence and develop 21st Century skills. In addition, more and more colleges and universities are looking for international experience on students’ applica-tions to set them apart More about the London, Paris, Florence and Rome Tour: Centuries worth of history come into focus in these amazing cities; they are centers of creativity, culture, and significant world events. Paris and Florence host some of the world’s best art museums. Rome and London each once ruled the world, and monuments of those empires remain, from the mind-boggling Roman Colosseum to the majes-tic Houses of Parliament. We have chosen to travel with EF because of their reputation as the world leader in international education. They have been in busi-ness for more than 45 years and have local offices in over 50 countries! EF guarantees the lowest prices for the highest quality and offers a monthly payment plan to make the trip affordable Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
