Recycling Coordinator, 979.764.6229 Holiday Schedule No recycling collection on observed days: Memorial Day 4th of July (Independence Day) Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Bag & Tie TRASH won’t Fly Automated Garbage Collection is provided once a week. Each residence is provided an automated garbage cart that should be rolled to the edge of the curb by 8 a.m. on the scheduled day. All garbage placed in the cart MUST BE BAGGED. City Ordinance requires carts to be removed from the curb within 12 hours of collection. Brush Up on Brush Collection College Station offers weekly Clean Green Brush Collection. Heavy brush collected is taken to the Bryan Compost Facility to be shredded and composted, or recycled into a soil amendment or natural fertilizer. College Station supports the Don’t Bag It! Lawn care program by encouraging citizens to leave grass clippings on the lawn. Bulk Item Collection College Station provides weekly bulky item pick up. Bulky items include items too large to fit in your garbage cart such as kitchen appliances, furniture, and flattened cardboard. ALL REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS, & AIR CONDITIONERS MUST HAVE FREON EXTRACTED BY LICENSED HVAC PROFESSIONAL PRIOR TO PICKUP. Place bulky items within 3 ft of the curb in a location easily accessible to the collection vehicle and separated from brush piles or recycling bags.
