The $6.5 million facility is also home to the Cougar soccer, softball, baseball & tennis programs. The main building is equipped with locker rooms, a meeting area and press areas for all teams as well as concessions and laundry facility. An external training building was added in 2003 to fulfill the medical needs of all the student-athletes at Patriots Point. The 35-acre complex also includes softball and baseball practice fields, an indoor practice facility for baseball & softball as well as five Mt. Pleasant youth soccer fields. Patriots Point was completed in the fall of 2000 and was a collaborative effort between the College of Charleston, the Town of Mt. Pleasant, and the Patriots Point Development Authority. The complex operates on a joint agreement between Mt. Pleasant and CofC concerning the use and maintenance of the fields. Visiting Team Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, and training facilities are available at Patriots Point. The renovated facility features covered seating, an expanded press box with two radio booths, a hospitality deck and seating to 1,500. Also on site are locker rooms, an athletic training facility, practice field and a 4,200 square foot indoor practice facility. Yorktown, the Ballpark at Patriots Point provides one of the most picturesque backdrops for college baseball in the country. The Patriots Point Softball Field The Patriots Point Softball Field is the home of Cougar Softball. The facility opened in the spring of 2001, and was part of a $3 million renovation completed in the summer of 2007. The newly renovated facility features covered seating and a hospitality deck. The Soccer Stadium at Patriots Point The Soccer Stadium at Patriots Point is the home of Cougar Men’s & Women’s Soccer. The facility opened in the spring of 2001, and was part of a $3 million renovation completed in the summer of 2007. "We maintain the playing surface like a golf course fairway," said Kevin Taylor, Patriots Point Facility and Grounds Manager and a goalie on Clemson's 1987 national championship team. "It's as good a surface as I've played on or any golf course fairway that I've seen." "If I was a young man or woman I'd want to play at the College of Charleston and Patriots Point Stadium because it's as good a soccer facility as there is in the nation," added Taylor, who worked as a golf course superintendent for 11 years.

College of Charleston Tennis Center The College of Charleston tennis programs started a new era when the teams opened a new facility in Mt. Pleasant on January 17, 2004. The College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point gives the men’s and women’s tennis teams a first class complex including locker rooms, offices and lighted playing courts. The facility features nine outdoor lighted courts and a 3,000 square foot clubhouse with tennis offices and locker rooms. For tennis fans, it has a two-tiered terrace that overlooks the courts for easy viewing. Instead of bleachers, spectators sit in low-country style rocking chairs. The courts also have computerized scoreboards that are updated by the players during the crossovers. "We are very excited about our home,” said College of Charleston women’s tennis head coach Angelo Anastopoulo, who also serves as the director of the complex. “We have created as many fond memories on the new courts as we had on the Silcox courts. It is a first class facility and it has everything we could want in order to attract the highest level student-athletes. It allows us to take both programs to even greater heights and help attract top-notch competition to the Charleston area.” J. Stewart Walker, Jr. Sailing Complex The J. Stewart Walker, Jr. Sailing Complex was dedicated on May 15, 1999, as the new home for the College of Charleston sailing program. The complex is located in the Patriots Point Marina in Mt. Pleasant, SC, just across the Cooper River Bridge from the Charleston peninsula. Within the floating dock formatted complex, the Chrisman Sailing Center stands as a unique building with innovative features including outside sail retrieval, two maintenance bays, a team room with video presentation capabilities and a loft for storage and office use. The more than 400 feet of custom floating docks, named the Cato Docks, moor and store the fleets of 6 FJs, 18 420s, 8 Lasers and 10 J-22s. The complex is situated next to the famous World War II carrier USS Yorktown, an exhibit in the Patriots Point Maritime Museum, which is adjacent to the marina. This exceptional venue provides more and varied sites for team practice and home regattas. Opportunities exist for wave, current, shift and velocity conditions to be tailored to the needs for particular team practices.
