Age of number of people surveyed

From this questionnaire it is clear that there is a relatively even split of gender although the result is slightly male dominated.

I am aware that this will have a slight impact on the rest of the results including the hobbies and interests, although we will still have a response from the female college students, so the results will still be significant to my research.

Age of the people I surveyed-

16 17 18 19+

From this result I can deduce that the majority of the people I interviewed we aged 16. This is vital in reviewing the results of my questionnaire as this is my main target audience for my college magazine cover.

People aged 19+ will usually not attend college as students, so I will not include them in thought when designing my college magazine cover.

The hobbies and interests of people I surveyed-

Football Photography Films & TV Socialising MusicExercising Gaming Art Exams

In my third question of the survey it is clear to see the main interests of the people of my survey in relation to my target audience.

This will effect the content of my front cover and what to include, due to a mainly male dominated response football has the highest majority of votes. I will try and include the interests of both male and female within my magazine cover.

What content would like to be seen by the people I surveyed

What content would like to be seen by the people I surveyed

In the fourth question on my questionnaire it is evident that the most liked to see content was fashion, closely followed by football.

I asked this question as it would enable me to understand what my target audience would like to see on a college magazine in terms of content, this question will guide me when it comes to constructing my cover.

How often the people I surveyed would buy a college magazine-

How often the people I surveyed would buy a college magazine-

Within this question of my survey I asked how often would my target audience buy/ read a college magazine. I asked this question to again understand the content of my magazine.

For example, as the majority of the people answered monthly, I would need to put in information relevant to the month, keeping it updated, new and fresh appealing to my target audience.

How much money the people I surveyed would pay for the magazine

<£1 £1-£2 £2-£4 £0

In the sixth question I asked my target audience about how much they would be willing to pay for a college magazine.

The highest result in this question is £1-£2 which makes it clear that this is the price range I will need to include on my magazine front cover, an important convention which is featured on all magazine covers.

The colour preferences of the people I surveyed

Black&White Soft Bright

In the seventh question of my questionnaire, the colours which have the most preference is black and white.

I should take this into account when it comes to the main cover image on my magazine or maybe the background or text design.

The design interests of the people I surveyed

Design

Within this question I asked what type of design interests the people who I surveyed e.g. my target audience of 16-18 year olds.

It is clear to see that classy and subtle is the most popular choice of preference, although bright and flashy still holds a large majority of the votes, meaning that either of the designs would be appreciated by my target audience.

How often the people I surveyed like to read magazines

How often people I surveyed read magazines

In this question of my questionnaire I asked how often do they read magazines. I asked to further understand my target audience.

‘Never’ has the majority of the votes in this categories, this could mean that 16—18 year olds may not be aware of a magazine that holds the interests of them. This is something which I will try and combat within my magazine cover.

Would the people who I surveyed enjoy freebies on the magazine cover

Yes No In the final question in my survey I asked a question about freebies on the magazine cover. I asked this question to help me use the ‘puff’ convention.

Using the result, I can see that my target audience would enjoy freebies with a magazine cover. This has made it clear that puffs would be useful in regards to my target audience.
