CS3 – The events
COLLABORATIONS
AND EXHIBITORS AT 5VIE
The 5VIE district proves to be a promoter and a cultural producer by launching the
new Piazza Gorani with the Foyer Gorani project. Besides the Brisa-Gorani area there
are other important points of interest: the historical San Maurilio-Santa Marta-Piazza
Affari, the area Magenta-Meravigli and Cesare Correnti. In addition to the co-
produced events, the districts collaborates on many other events, by coordinating
some institutional and logistic aspects concerning the area. Finally, we briefly
recommend the many exhibitors that found in 5VIE a synergy of intentions and
values and that decided to exhibit their works in the district.
This year, 5VIE presents an itinerary on the future of the Swedish design.
This itinerary will underline a new Swedish style, different from the typical wooden
minimalism we are used to. On the contrary, it is characterized by new experiments
on materials, colors, by the use of black and white and of ancient shapes that are
often inspired by far away cultures and by the animal world.
The Swedish itinerary’s central point is the Arsenale Theatre, where the
exhibition Armour Mon Amour by the two Swedish artists Färg&Blanche takes place.
Then it continues to the exhibition of the works make by the students graduated in
2016 from the Beckmans Shools of Design in Via Lanzone. At Legatoria Conti
Borbone, in Corso Magenta, 31, the female duo FOLKFORM will show the project of
turning libraries in coproduction with 5VIE:
Swedish Design Moves to Milan
Equality and solutions for creativity. These are the common denominators of the
many Swedish initiatives during the Salone del Mobile and the Fuori Salone 2017. The
Swedish design looks at the future by presenting innovative projects and captivating
events in the fair and by organizing workshops in the 5VIE district.
Design, architecture, fashion, music and Swedish taste will be shown and - at night -
dinners will be organized in occasion of the Färg&Blanche’s exhibition
called ARMOUR mon AMOUR, held at the Arsenale Theatre. Färg&Blanche present a
new conceptual collection of pieces of furniture by questioning the relationship
between hard and soft in terms of materials, production methods, shape and ideas.
“Leather without stitching, fragments, pierced together, create new armours”
BRISA – GORANI
Exhibitors:
Antes Design – Piazza Torre Gorani
is a new Milanese brand founded by Antonella Tesei. She has managed to transfer
her experience as architect. Her first collections are the expression of the research
into metals, and the sections carry the substance to the project design traits. “In
the depths of this research, bookshelves and tables, in dipped iron, often evoke
the reaction of edges and surfaces having been subjected to an appropriate
application of force”: according to Antonella Tesei. “The petrol blue and the dark
brown, for example, exalt the graphic design and the structural lightness of
the Seventies bookcases and the Petra bookcase with its fragmented lines, refers
to the results of rythmical horizontal pressure”. The last items realized with,
bronze, copper and laser perforated metal sheet research new expressive
possibilities of metal.
Associazione Cuoremilano – Via Nirone, 19

worlds that tell ancient and yet common stories, the colors are intense and remain
vivid in the memory. They talk about Lisa Corti, but capture contemporary taste.
For Milan Design Week some new proposals will be display in 5Vie district at Il
Torvatore, an ante litteram concept store, in which Lisa Corti will set up a special
window and corner inside.
MIPA – c/o Studio Superfici , Via Morigi,15
The first journey among Cuban decorations led to the creation of a new “research
collection” which became part of the already very comprehensive MIPA archive.
The satisfaction obtained pushed us to continuing in this relentless search for
inspiration within the decoration world. Once again we sought inspiration in
Central America. This time we turned our focus to Puerto Rico, another country
that over the years has been crossed and influenced by countless architectural
and art styles from the old world, which it re-visited according to colonial style.
A plunge into the colours and decorations of a country worth discovering.
The Puerto Rico collection was also the springboard to research and develop a
new, distinctly Caribbean colour palette. Thus MIPA continues on its quest to
research, discover and renew itself by adding a new element to its “Graniglia”
collections.

VENICE DESIGN WEEK c/o SIAM –Via Santa Marta 18
ARTDESIGN @ Fuorisalone 2017 is an exhibition of art and design works made by
creators and enterprises where art and design mix together.
When designers plan limited edition products often these products are art works
in the sense of handcraft work and concept. The exhibition that includes works
made of different materials such as glass, stone, metal, wood, carbon, porcelain,
ceramic, fabrics and yarn promotes cultures and handcraft traditions of creators
coming from European and non-European countries. The exhibition goal is to
sensitize the visitors on cultural diversities and on how these diversities can
influence and distinguish the creative process. The exhibited artworks show the

Alberto Levi Gallery – Via San Maurilio, 24
On the occasion of this year’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the Alberto Levi
Gallery is proud to present its latest collection entitled Heavy Metal. It consists of
hand made flatwoven rugs employing
vegetal fibres native of the Andes, juxtaposed with strands of metal such as
copper and tin. This is the result of an idea born about twenty years ago from the
mind of an artisan located in the heart of the Colombian highlands, at close
distance from the carpet’s natural resources. The recent meeting with Franca
Cainarca, an Italian architect who grew up in South America, enabled the
development of a series of pieces in which the pattern is defined by the contrast
between the opaqueness of the natural fibres and the translucency of the
metal.
The idea is that of devising a sort of lexicon consisting of specific combinations of
colours and materials which enhance the rug’s texture, offering also the possibility
of customization in formats of a maximum of 450 cm of width and unlimited
length.

Studio La Cube c/o Spazio Sanremo – Via della Zecca Vecchia
“Compositions” project is composed by a series of objects made following the
idea of creating powerful aesthetical contrasts with the color and the textures of
the materials as well as doing a balanced general figure. Using the roughness of
the burnt wood with the elegance of the brass and copper sheets, we have
created two different compositions in where to play and to experiment with the
possibilities of the geometry and with its small details, such as the fitting of the
different pieces and the role of the screws on the aesthetics’ object. The creation
process of this project is based on the philosophy of experimentation as
methodology for design, working with the inherent characters of each material,
joining different types of them, and looking for the smoothness through the
diversity. This project has been developed in New York.

A Matter of Perception: Linking Minds.
The third edition of the Matter of Perception exhibition will explore the theme of
LINKING MINDS as very often, good ideas are generated by closed
encounters and long lasting collaborations. The goal is to create an exhibition that
lends into the creative process between two or more persons, ideas that grow
from scratch through a mix of friendship, mutual trust, experience and the
result is a wonderful final project. Following this concept the courtyard of the
Palazzo, the heart of the event, will be interpreted this year by Diller Scofidio +

The Power of Light
Photographic paintings by Ronald Martinez
The work of Ronald Martinez is the result of thorough research into the infinite
variations of light on the body.
Since 2011 he works on a project focused on artistic nudes: inspired by Italian
pictorial aesthetics and Luminism, Ronald Martinez works in the dark, with just a
single source of light placed on the left.
The beauty of the chiaroscuro effect obtained is completely free of any computer
retouches. The nuances of the light redraw the outlines of the bodies and bring
out the skin tones, creating art with a real aesthetic force and great sensory
richness.
The twenty photographic paintings that will on show in Milan evoke the pictorial
innovations of the Renaissance masters, whether via Caravaggio and Cagnacci's
chiaroscuro or Velasquez's palette.
The bodies are displayed with graceful nudity and divine accents.
The exhibition includes a series of still-lives to confront light with other subjects.

architecture and by a sustainable and shared usage of resources, is the founding
value of Radar and DressYouCan, two start-ups that run on creativity, strong identity

The Diesel Living Pop-up Home at Fuorisalone - Via Cesare Correnti 14For Fuorisalone 2017, we are proud to introduce the Diesel Living pop-up home, a
residence where the entire range of Diesel Living products are united for the first time
ever, inside a newly transformed space making its debut to the public. In the heart of
Milan’s most historic neighborhood, at Via Cesare Correnti 14, a former thirties-era
goldsmith’s atelier is transformed, its industrial artisan workshop spaces reimagined
as apartments in Diesel’s palazzo. This glass-roofed edifice will exhibit our new
offerings side by side with our best-selling favorites, composing a range of individual
domestic environments. Here, Diesel Living shows its coziest side, with the warmth of
the sand dune sun imbuing the urban living space with a stripped-down luxury that
mirrors the arid, warm-toned essentialism of the Arizona landscape. The human
element injects the interiors with sensual hedonism amidst the barren desert — an
oasis of cozy comfort that merges with the severe scenery.
