About Colas Infrastructure

Colas Infrastructure’s primary focus is the support of projects for the energy and mining markets, road and bridge construction, port development, rail and intermodal projects, government and military infrastructure, other large civil projects, and maintenance of infrastructure assets. As a true solutions provider, our diverse capabilities and rich professional network allow us to support projects from the conception and funding procurement stages through final delivery, operations, and long term maintenance. With operations throughout the United States and extensive experience with public-private partnerships and design/build projects, we are uniquely positioned to effectively deliver the most complex infrastructure projects in the country.

Colas Infrastructure offers the energy and mining markets a complete suite of infrastructure services including road construction and widening, material supply, bridge construction, site work, underground utilities, mass grading, and asset maintenance. Our Group has assisted energy and mining companies throughout the world with the construction of infrastructure assets necessary to operate safely and efficiently. The Group’s culture of safety, commitment to sustainable development and environmentally friendly practices, and dedication to delivering high quality work ahead of schedule has made us a preferred contractor to energy and mining companies across the globe.

Our philosophy of coupling worldwide resources with local connections means that we bring a wealth of knowledge and solutions to every customer, but can also provide local, hands-on support with trained personnel, specialized equipment, and high quality construction materials close to your project. Marcellus Shale Natural Gas PlayColas Infrastructure has been heavily involved in the development of the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Play in the Northeast United States. The Group’s expertise, experience, and flexibility allows our crews to work within customized schedules to meet the rigorous and accelerated demands of the gas industry, without comprising quality. Recent projects have included construction of over 42 well pads, soil stabilization at various sites, construction of 18 impoundments, 112 lane-miles of full-depth reclamation (FDR), 200 lane-miles of roads improvements, and over 400,000 tons of asphalt paving.

Dokie Ridge Wind Energy ProjectColas Infrastructure was a key supplier to the recently completed Dokie Ridge Wind Energy project in British Columbia, Canada, which resulted in the construction of 48, 300-foot Vestas wind turbines. Colas Infrastructure installed a portable batch plant at the site to ensure a constant supply of ready-mix concrete was available. More than 450 cubic-yards of high quality ready-mix concrete were placed for each slab, tower foundation, and pedestal. Colas Infrastructure was able to complete its work in very challenging conditions in a remote location while meeting demanding specifications for quality and jobsite safety regulations. Colas Infrastructure has continued its involvement with wind energy projects in the area, and is now involved in the Quality Wind Project, which is constructing 79 wind turbines just northeast of Tumbler Ridge, BC.

QMM Mining Project, Fort-Dauphin, MadagascarIn 2010, Colas Infrastructure completed a project for QMM in Fort-Dauphin, Madagascar. Colas Infrastructure was responsible for road and infrastructure construction, dam construction, industrial buildings, quarry openings, installation of a crusher and pump station, and power plant improvements. Between 700 and 1,300 employees were working on this project at its height. Most impressively, the entire project, which required more than 7 million man-hours, was completed without a single lost time accident. Colas Infrastructure’s exemplary performance on the QMM Mining Project has led to further opportunities with QMM and the project’s lead engineer SNC Lavalin.
