Principal’s Report

Although it is early in the term, classes are extremely busy and have

lost no time getting stuck into engaging and exciting activities. The

term will continue to get busier and busier as it goes, with many of our

end of year activities sneaking up very quickly!

Copper Team’s excursion is going well. The students have so far visit-

ed the observatory where they saw Saturn and it’s rings as well as the

moon. Wellington Caves was a huge hit and I’m told there were lots of

“wow” comments from students with mouths wide open. A great

example of how learning can take place in all settings; not just a

classroom! Family trips and traveling to other places can bring a

wealth of knowledge for kids.

In the spirit of the new term and new beginnings, I would like to set

every single student a challenge.. are you ready for it? I have created a

‘Random Acts of Kindness’ grid and it is located in this newsletter.

Your challenge is see how many you can tick off this term. When you

have completed some you can tell your teacher, share it with your

friends, speak about it for class news or just encourage someone else

to give it a go. I am so excited to hear about all the kind things you get

up to.

This week I have a double joke delight for all the joke fans. The first

joke comes from Corey Sime:

What did the ocean say to the sand when it kept telling lies? YEAH

SHORE!

Mrs Whitey threw in a joke this week as well, and no surprises that it

relates to cows.

What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground beef!

Have a wonderful rest of your week

Who Got

Spotted

this week?

Ernie spotted Toby this week,

out on the oval playing with

younger students and including

them in a game. Toby is a very

responsible student and is

a great role model for

others. Way to go, Toby!

Ernie has spotted Austin

demonstrating growth mindset

attitudes during writing

lessons this term. He has

been spotted working

independently, but when faced

with challenges he is taking

different approaches to

overcome the challenges.

Well done Austin,

Ernie is proud of you.

Learne

r

Chloe Williams Chloe is an amazing student

who Ernie has spied using

beautiful manners when

speaking to staff and peers.

She is also a kind and caring

person towards others, helping

out when it is needed. Great

work Chloe!

Congratulations

Miners Memorial Service

Students from Cobar Public School, along with students from Cobar High School and St. Johns, have been

invited to sing the national anthem at the Miners’ Memorial Service in the Heritage Park on the evening of

Friday 26th October, 18.

This is a voluntary event, students may wear their uniform to represent the school, but casual clothes are also

acceptable.

Students are asked to meet Mrs Harvey at the front stage area at 6.45pm.

The organisers of the event hope that this will be a memorable night for all present.
