Backing Fabric: 3-1/2 yards

Batting: for 52” x 52” quilt

Cutting: 13004 Sand (block panel): Fussy cut (4) 10-1/2” blocks, centering motifs.

P546 Cream (pearl tone-on-tone): Cut (3) 3-3/8” x WOF strips, cross cut into (32) 3-3/8” squares. Cut each

square once diagonally to form (64) half-square triangles.

Cut (1) 6-1/4” x WOF strip, cross cut into (2) 6-1/4” squares. Cut each square twice on the diagonal to form

(8) quarter-square triangles.

Cut (1) 3” x WOF (width of fabric) strip, cross cut into (8) 3” squares.

291 Multi (allover): Cut (2) 3” X WOF strips, cross cut into (16) 3” squares.

Cut (1) 6-1/4” x WOF strips, cross cut into (4) 6-1/4” squares. Cut each square twice on the diagonal to form

(16) quarter square triangles.

528 Lake (allover water): Cut (3) 5-7/8” x WOF strips, cross cut into (16) 5-7/8” squares. Cut each square

once on the diagonal to form (32) half-square triangles, cutting (8) squares in each direction to maintain

directionality of “water”.

Cut (4) 1-1/2” x WOF strips, cross cut into (2) 1-1/2” x 40-1/2” and (2) 1-1/2” x 42-1/2” border strips.

If necessary, cut an additional 1-1/2” strip to piece the longer borders.

Cut (1) 3” x WOF strip, cross cut into (8) 3” squares for borders.

290 Sand (allover): Cut (1) 3” x WOF (width of fabric) strip, cross cut into (8) 3” squares.

Cut (3) 3-3/8” x WOF strips, cross cut into (32) 3-3/8” squares, cut once diagonally to form (64) half-square

triangles.

Cut (1) 3” x WOF strip, cross cut into (8) 3” squares.

Cut (1) 6-1/4” x WOF strip, cross cut into (2) 6-1/4” squares. Cut each square twice on the diagonal to form

(8) quarter-square triangles.

13005 Sand (scenic): Cut (4) 5-1/2” x WOF strips for outer border, cross cut to 5-1/2” x 42-1/2”. Extra fabric is

allowed to align motifs. If necessary, cut an extra strip to piece the borders.

291 Multi (allover): Cut (6) 2-1/2” x WOF strips for binding, set aside.

Star Block (make 2 of each colorway):

Make the half-square triangle units:

Sew together (1) 290 Sand (allover) 3-3/8” triangle and (1) P546

Cream (pearl tone-on-tone) 3-3/8” triangle to form a half-square

triangle block. Repeat to make a total of (32) half-square units.

Make the corner four-patch units:

Use (8) 3” P546 Cream (pearl tone-on-tone) squares, (8) 3” 291 Multi (allover) squares and

(16) half-square units from above step to form (4) four-patch corner units. Be mindful of the

orientation of the half-square units.

Repeat steps using (8) 290 Sand (allover) 3” squares, (8) 291 Multi (allover) 3” squares and

(16) remaining half-square units to make 4 more four-patch corner units (second colorway).

Make the star point sections:

Sew together (1) 6-1/4” P546 Cream (pearl tone-on-tone) quarter-square triangle and (2)

3-3/8” 290 Sand (allover) half-square triangles to form first part of unit. Repeat to make

(7) more units.

Repeat steps using 6-1/4” 290 Sand (allover) quarter-square triangles and P546 Cream

(pearl tone-on-tone) 3-3/8” half-square triangles to make (8) units of the opposite colorway.

Complete star point units:

Sew (2) 3-3/8” P546 Cream (pearl tone-on-tone) triangles to each side of unit, being sure

to orient the triangles correctly. Then add (1) 291 Multi (allover) 6-1/4” quarter-square

triangle to the bottom of this unit.

Finally, add (2) 5-7/8” 528 Lake (allover) half-square triangles to each side of the unit to

complete the star point section. Complete 7 more units of the same colorway. Be sure to

orient the 528 Lake (allover) horizontally in four units and

vertically (for the sides of the stars) in the other four units.

Repeat steps using second colorway of star point sections, (2) 290 Sand (allover) 3-3/8”

half-square triangles and 291 Multi (allover) 6-1/4” quarter-square triangles to complete

8 more star point units.

Add 528 Lake (allover) 5-7/8” triangles to sides, again taking care to orient the 528 Lake

(allover) fabric properly in all units.

Assemble the star blocks:

First Row: Sew together (1) corner unit, one star point unit, and (1) corner unit

to form first row. Maintain proper orientation of units.

Second row: Sew together (1) star point unit, (1) 13004 Sand (block panel)

10-1/2” fussy-cut block, and (1) star point unit to form second row.

Third row: Same as the first row.

Complete two blocks of each colorway.

Assemble the Center Section:

Sew the four star blocks together to form center section.

Adding Borders:

Add 528 Lake (allover) 1-1/2” x 40-1/2” strips to sides of quilt top.

Add 528 Lake (allover) 1-1/2” x 42-1/2” strips to top and bottom of

quilt top (pieced if necessary).

Sew together 290 Sand (allover) 3” squares and 528 Lake (allover) 3” squares

to form four patch units, being sure to orient 528 Lake (allover) horizontally.

Sew 13005 Sand (scenic) 5-1/2” x 42-1/2” strips

to sides of center section. Add four patch units

to each end of remaining border strips, add to

top and bottom of quilt top.

Finishing:

Layer quilt top, batting and backing.

Quilt as desired.

Use reserved 291 Multi (allover) 2-1/2” strips to

bind quilt.
