Atlas Copco releases new side dump bucketfor Scooptram loaders

September 23, 2014 – COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Atlas Copco has intro-duced a side dump bucket option for the Scooptram line of underground LHDmachines.

Available on the Scooptram ST7, ST1030 and ST14 models, the side dump optionincreases the versatility and productivity of the loaders. It enables the Scooptramto be used in numerous applications from civil construction to rail and road tunnels,as well as for rapid tunnel development in mining.

The side dump bucket can mean for shorter times between loads, as the Scooptramonly has to position itself parallel to a truck to empty. Filling the bucket, reversing,positioning, lifting and dumping can all be done in one motion. Lowering thebucket and boom can be done while moving forward to fill the next load. Not onlydoes this equate to more loads being moved in a day, but tire wear and fuel con-sumption are also reduced.

In addition to flexibility and efficiency, the side dump enables the Scooptram toserve multiple trucks and eliminates the need for loading bays or cutouts.

John Rich has recently joined the sales staff at J. H.Fletcher & Co. as a Field Service Representative forthe U.S. Midwestern region.

During John’s 24-year mining career, he has held po-sitions at Pyro Mining, Smith Coal, American Coal,and Gibson County Coal.

In 2001, John began work as the Lead Mechanic atFreedom Mine (Patriot Coal), and later became thirdshift maintenance foreman for Highland #9 Mine.John’s last position held was Maintenance Manager.

John has his electrical card in Kentucky, along with his mine foreman papers inKentucky and Illinois.

Steve Nye has recently joined the sales staff at J.H. Fletcher & Co. as Regional Manager of theWestern U.S. district.

Steve is a 1992 graduate from the University ofUtah with a degree in Mining Engineering. Whileattending, Steve held the position as SME StudentChapter President. In his 22-year career, Steve hasheld a variety of positions within the mining sec-tor, including work with Shell Mining, Arco, andArch Coal Company.

In 2000, Steve was Hilti’s Mining Market Manager for North America wherehe introduced Hilti to the mining market. In 2007, Steve became Dwidag Sys-tems International’s U.S. Sales Manager responsible for the sales and growthof underground roof support products. Steve later became the Operations Man-ager for Strata Worldwide’s growth and infrastructure development for theWestern US and Canadian mining industry.
