Season 2012 3

SETTING UP OF FIELDS It is the responsibility of the team’s Coaches and Managers to set up and remove the nets and corner flags (goals and cones in the case of Rooball). In general, the first team to play sets up and the last team on that ground removes. This applies to half and full field games, there may not be another game after yours and you are to please refer to the notice board at the ground for any special instruct ions. Rooball equipment is normally available from within the compound and should be returned to the same area. All competitive equipment is normally laid out ready for setting up behind the goals and it is expected to be replaced in the trailer at the end of the day. A Club delegate will check that fields are dressed properly before commencement of play. Please note it is Club policy that the highest aged group team and/or division is generally allocated to field one for their game on match days.

THE CLUB CAN BE FINED FOR NOT SETTING UP GROUNDS CO RRECTLY

All teams need to check the notice board each week; this will advise which teams will be setting up and taking down or both.

ROOBALL - When and where possible all goals will be available from the compound area for your games – if the goals are not out in the compound pl ease obtain them from the storage area. Under 7’s – Use the small 2 panelled blue goals and markers to set up your field. Please return the goals and markers to the compound area at the compl etion of the game.

Under 8’s - Use the 3 panel blue goals and markers to set up your field. Under 9’s use the same size goals and field. U9’s to remove goals and markers a nd return to the compound area at the completion of the game. Under 10’s - Use the 4 panel blue goals and markers to set up your field. Under 11’s use the same size goals and field. U11’s to remove goals and mar kers and return to the compound area at the completion of the game. Again please remember to check the notice board – T his will advise if you will need

to setup and take down your playing field.

COACHES AND MANAGERS ARE ASKED TO HAVE PARENTS ORGA NISED FOR THE SETTING UP OF FIELDS AND TAKING DOWN AND TO REM EMBER THAT ANOTHER GAME COULD BE FOLLOWING AND IT WILL NEED SE TTING UP BY

THAT TEAM – SO PLEASE BE QUICK. COMPETITIVE –

Under 12’s who play at the earlier time slot will n eed to set up the field and the team who plays the last game of the day will be required to remove the nets and corner flags and return to the trailer or

back to Latham if playing at Scullin. Again please remember to check the notice board – T his will advise if you will need

to setup and take down your playing field. Note:

Games must start on time, any delay in setting up o f the ground or teams being ready to play will result in YOUR MATCH being cut s hort, so give yourself at least

30 minutes before match time.

Notes (U7-U11): 1. Players Equipment: A player taking the field of play should not wear anything that is dangerous to

themselves or another player. This includes, but is not limited to, caps or hats with hard brims (other than goalkeepers), plaster or fibreglass casts and any jewellery (which must be removed, not taped). Medi-Alert bracelets must be taped if worn. Boots or training shoes and shin guards must be worn and the shin guards must be fully covered by socks.

2. Goalkeepers: Goalkeepers may not punt kick or drop kick the ball directly from their hands. In U10-U11 during open play attackers may challenge for the ball when the goalkeeper has placed the ball on the ground to kick it.

3. Goalkeepers holding the ball for more than 6 seconds: Goal keepers should be encouraged to release the ball early rather than being penalised.

4. Free Kicks: Indirect free kicks for offences occurring inside the penalty area (U9-U11) shall be taken from the nearest point on the front of the penalty area closest to where the offence occurred.

5. Penalty Kicks: These are awarded for any offence under Law 12 that would normally result in a direct free kick. Coaches should rotate penalty takers through their respective teams.

6. Misconduct – major offence: Referees should forward the report to their Referee Coordinator for distribution to the player’s club. The player’s club is to take any administrative action.

7. Referees Role: Referees introduce players to a slightly more formal approach but still adopt a Game Leader approach - fun, relaxed, explaining rules as required and allowing games to flow. For U7-U9 matches, referees are to be paid by the home club.

Season 2012 6

REFEREE FEE SCHEDULE - UNDER 10 TO UNDER 18

REFEREES AND ASSISTANT REFEREES It is the desire of all clubs to have referees appointed for all games, sometimes this is not the case and you may find that there is no referee appointed to your game. Should a referee not be in attendance, then the visiting team has first choice in nominating a referee, it is important that a referee is decided upon by mutual agreement of both Managers. This referee then assumes full control as if he/she is a fully qualified referee. This rule also applies when playing away, and we assume the visiting role so please ensure that whoever referees is competent as it is in your team’s best interests. The Coach or Manager is the only person allowed to approach a referee. It is hoped to provide qualified Assistants for all Division One games at home. Sometimes this is not possible, and you may be asked to provide an Assistant prior to kick off. The volunteer must check with the referee as to what he/she is to do. There are courses specifically designed for people who only wish to be Assistants, if you are interested, and it is in your best interest to have as many qualified people with you as possible, check with the club for the next course dates. When playing at home the Referee and Assistants are paid half the stated fee by the Club. When playing away the Manager must pay half the stated fee to the Referee and Assistants for all games. If you have to pay fees then you make a claim to the Club for Reimbursement. Claims must be made on a claim form and may be collected from the canteen. Only officially appointed Referees and Assistants are entitled to be paid half the stated fee.

Referees and Assistant Referees at Junior Games shall be paid prior to the commencement of the game,

with each competing team liable for half the fee(s) due.

Note: You only pay half of the stated fee.

TEAM ALLOCATION DAYS U10’S AND ABOVE

Capital Football runs teams from U10 upwards by year and divisions. Accordingly, players from U10 upwards who wish to be considered for selection in a team playing at a more competitive level are asked to attend the Belwest team allocation days in order for Belwest to assess the most appropriate level of competition for them. Social division players and younger players (U9 and below) will be placed in teams according to friendship groups, schools and residential address. All efforts will be made to group friends together. If you are unable to attend a team allocation day but still wish to be assessed, please contact your registrar.

2012 NEW MATCHCARDS

This year will see the roll out of a new matchcard pad from Capital Football, They have been updated so it will “flow” better and should make it easier for everyone to fill out correctly. Below is a picture of the new match card filled out as a sample. As we have a few old ones left over you may still use last season’s match cards, so there isn’t too much wastage. Details on the completion are found in Part B of the coaches and managers folder.
