Work Instruction 4KE5 - THL - Perform Profit Center Distribution Test Run

Purpose

Use this procedure to perform profit center distribution.

Assessment and distribution of relevant overhead costs is performed at period closing (actual data) or plan closing (plan data). This is usually done directly in CO. It is then reflected in the data in Profit Center Accounting.

If you have a service profit center or allocation profit center in your profit center hierarchy, you may need to assess or distribute costs again in Profit center Accounting.

In Profit Center Accounting, the allocation function allows you to allocate the following plan and actual data.

Costs (assessment and/or distribution)

Revenues and sales deductions (assessment and/or distribution)

Balance sheet items (distribution)

Assessment is made using a special cost/revenue element. In distribution, the original cost/revenue element/account number is retained.

Perform this procedure when need to perform profit center distribution test run.

Menu Path

Use the following SAP Easy Access menu path(s) to begin this transaction:

Accounting > Controlling > Profit Center Accounting > Actual Posting > Period-End Closing > 4KE5 - Distribution

Procedure

1. In SAP, start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.

3. Double-click the Controlling node .

4. Double-click the Profit Center Accounting node .

7. Click the Scroll down button .

Field R/O/C Description

Period R Unit of time into which a fiscal year is subdivided. Company data can be analyzed on a particular date in each period. In accounting, a fiscal year can be subdivided into a maximum of 16 periods. The fiscal year itself is a period Example: 11

Period To R Unit of time when the activity ends. Example: 11

Fiscal Year R Period, 12 months as a rule, for which the company is to create its inventory and balance sheet. The fiscal year can be the same as the calendar year, but does not have to be. Example: 2008
