CN June 28, 2017 Ron Glenn Chief Planning Officer Legislative & Planning Services Halton Region 1151 Bronte Road Oakville, ON L6M 3L 1 By email Dear Mr. Glenn: Canadian National Darren Reynolds MLH Project Director Corporate Development 61 James Snow Parkway Suite 202 Milton, ON L9E OH1 This is in response to your letter of June 12, 2017, accepting CN's offer to tour our intermodal facilities in Calgary and Montreal. We look forward to receiving your list of potential dates for these site visits. Once we have your list, we will advise which of the dates can be accommodated, or alternatively, we will propose additional dates for your consideration in the unlikely event that your proposed dates can not be accommodated due to operational constraints. In your June 12, 2017 letter, you also reiterated the interest expressed in your May 5, 2017 letter to the Review Panel in including a tour of the Brampton lntermodal Terminal (BIT) and potentially other facilities as part of the process. In its response to the Region on May 11, 2017, the Review Panel was clear that it did not require a visit to BIT or any other facilities. They noted that they have requested information about BIT and the role of the Project as a satellite to BIT (CEAR #563), and will continue to seek additional information through the Information Request process. Responses to the IRs will be available for public review upon submission. We agree with the Review Panel that the requested information can be adequately provided through the Information Request process and intend to follow the same protocol. We look forward to hearing from you regarding the timing of the tours of CN's Calgary and Montreal terminals. For planning purposes, we expect the tour of each facility would take approximately 2 hours. With respect to our on-going Milton discussions, could you please provide an update on the outstanding Britannia overpass agreement as well as the outstanding land sale agreement, both submitted to the Region in the fall of 2016 for review and subsequently reviewed in our meeting on January 19, 2017. This will allow CN to allocate appropriate resources to complete any required updates and ensure that we're able to efficiently respond to your project timeline. This is in response to your letter of June 12, 2017, accepting CN's offer to tour our intermodal facilities in Calgary and Montreal.
