    Club Sporting Cristal is a Peruvian football team. Based in the Rmac District, in the

    department of Lima, it plays in the professional league known as the Peruvian First

    Division. Founded on November 16, 1926 in the Rimac District given its approval to the

    merger and Snuff Sporting merging with the brewery and make way for the birth of the

    Sporting Cristal on December 13, 1955. The team's original name was Sporting

    Tabaco, but it was renamed after being purchased by a local beer production

    company. Sporting Cristal has won the league title 15 times, and it is the Peruvian

    team with the third most National titles. All its titles have been won in the professional

    era.

    It is one of the most popular football teams in Peru, along with Universitario de

    Deportes and Alianza Lima; it is the youngest of the three. In 1997, it became the

    second Peruvian football club to reach the final of the Copa Libertadores, an

    international competition.

    Sporting Cristal plays home games at the Estadio San Martin de Porres, but they alsoplay at the Estadio Nacional. They also use the Estadio Nacional when playing

    international competitions, such as Copa Libertadores or Copa Sudamericana.

    The Sporting Cristal is a Peruvian sports institution, located in the city of Lima, whose

    main activity is football.

    It was founded on December 13, 1955 in the historic district of Rimac, under theauspices of the Corporation Backus and Johnston Brewery and thanks to Ricardo

    company. The club was called Crystal as this is the preferred product name of the

    achievement.

    Sporting Cristal has won 15 national titles, all in the professional era, making it the

    second club with the most titles in the professionalism and the third counting was

    Amateur titles (time when the club did not exist) . It is also the Peruvian club in Copa

    Libertadores more shares.

    According to several surveys conducted several years ago, Sporting Cristal is the third

    club with the most supporters in the country after Alianza Lima and Universitario de

    Deportes, the parties dispute also called Peruvian football classic.

    The club carries out various sports to football. Teams of basketball, volleyball, football,

    tennis, squash, bowls, among others.
