Panzura Controllers present a standard CIFS/NFS disk target to NetBackup and take standard NetBackup output then deduplicate, compress, encrypt, and translate it inline for storage in any number of clouds. Panzura Controllers are optimized for direct integration with Symantec NetBackup without requiring any changes to backup processes or infrastructure. Simply run NetBackup as usual. The difference is that the data is optimized and stored both locally and at any of the major cloud storage providers or in an enterprise private cloud. In addition, The Panzura Global File System and unified namespace provide OpenStorage (OST)-like capability by allowing all backups to be tracked, viewed and accessible by any location, regardless of where the backup occurred.
